Republican Women are key figures in John McCain's Campaign

Two influential businesswomen have joined John McCain's campaign recently: former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and retiring eBay Chief Executive Meg Whitman.

Fiorina, who campaigned for McCain in the primaries, is now leading the Republican National Committee's fundraising efforts for McCain's campaign and taking his economic agenda on the road.

Whitman, who has been named as a national co-chair for McCain's campaign, had been a key fundraiser and supporter of Mitt Romney. As co-chair, Whitman will be raising money for McCain and her duties will include "developing policy and travel the country on his behalf," according the the San Jose Mercury News.

Both women are possible Republican candidates for governor in California's 2010 election.
