Barack Obama: A Dishonorable Beginning

Treacherous. That's one way to describe Obama's betrayal of President Bush. Rush Limbaugh is surely correct in his assessment that Obama will spend the next four years continuing to blame George W.Bush for his own failures. America has seen the prelude to a ruthless, dishonorable administration.

"...this news item is so outrageous that I had to tell you about it.

Barack Obama is the President-elect, but he has a long way to go before he reaches the level of grace and dignity that is possessed by our much-maligned current president, George W. Bush. President Bush has gone the extra mile to make the transition of power go smoothly. He has ordered everyone on the White House staff to cooperate fully. He invited President-elect Obama to a very early, private meeting with him yesterday. But this morning the unthinkable happened. Instead of keeping the details of his conversation in the Oval Office confidential, as tradition dictates, Obama’s people immediately talked to the media and used the leaks to attack President Bush.

The president is reportedly furious. The New York Times carried a front page story this morning on the meeting. Since no aides were present, and the news stories are critical of President Bush, Barack Obama not only failed to keep the details confidential, he also “spun” the meeting to hurt the president. This is a very sad way to begin the transition from one administration to the next. Barack Obama, who has never run anything other than his own campaign, has a lot to learn whether he realizes it or not."
