Quote of the Day

"...most Republican leaders understand that our positions on social issues are among our most popular with the public. Even if it doesn’t usually make the nightly news, conservatives in Congress are working hard to defend our values.

As proof of that, key Republicans in the House of Representatives sent a letter to President Obama this week, outlining their agenda on health care reform, an issue the president has said he wants to address this year. While the letter—signed by most of the Republican leadership, including Republican Leader John Boehner, Republican Whip Eric Cantor and Chairman of the House Republican Conference Mike Pence—expresses Republican’s desire to find common ground with the president on health care reform, it is also firm when it comes to the right to life. The letter makes it clear that House Republicans will consider only those proposals that “maintain current law provisions regarding restrictions on federal funding of abortion services, restricts federal funds from flowing to abortion providers, and does not impose mandates either on insurance carriers or medical providers to participate in activities that violate their religious and moral beliefs."

At a time when President Obama is seeking to implement the most radically anti-life agenda ever, it’s good to know conservative leaders are standing firm in support of our pro-life, pro-family values."
