Quote of the Day

"The Left has sunk to a new low. Desperate to silence debate and demonize its political opponents as bigots and racists, the Left is now flat out lying.

In Atlanta Tuesday, Jimmy Carter told an audience that he felt much of the political opposition to President Obama could be attributed to racism. He added, “And the outbursts that we see … the sign that I saw on television last night, ‘We should bury Obama with Kennedy,’ for instance…those kinds of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate over whether we should have a national program in health care. It’s deeper than that.”

Liberal talk show hosts took up Carter’s charge and began denouncing conservatives. Not just for racism, but for encouraging violence and the death of Barack Obama. MSNBC’s Ed Schultz devoted a segment of his show to the sign. It was the topic of intense debate on CNN. There’s just one problem: The sign that Democrats are condemning doesn’t exist. The real sign reads: “Bury ObamaCare with Kennedy.” [Emphasis added.]

As you can see here, when Schultz was condemning the imaginary sign “Bury Obama with Kennedy,” the real sign is flashed on the screen. It is clearly printed “Bury ObamaCare with Kennedy.”

Now, maybe even that is over-the-top for some, but it is clearly referring to a specific issue that is a matter of intense public debate, not to an individual. It is so easy for Democrats to impugn critics of Obama as racists, that it is just a short leap from “Bury ObamaCare” to “Kill Obama” to “Kill Obama because he’s black.”

But don’t think the Left is clueless. They know exactly what they’re doing. The distortions are intentional, and they are intended to browbeat you into silence and submission.

Don’t give in, my friends. Keep fighting. Working together, we can Stop Obama’s Socialism! (Click here to get the bumper sticker.)"
