Quote of the Day

"Barack Obama has said repeatedly that his administration’s number one priority is jobs. But who knew that meant destroying U.S. jobs? Here’s the latest example: Bucyrus International, a Wisconsin-based company that makes mining equipment.

Bucyrus recently landed a contract for $600 million to build equipment for a major project in India. The contract, which was contingent upon Bucyrus getting loan guarantees from the U.S. Export-Import Bank, would have created 984 jobs at Bucyrus. But it didn’t get the loan. Why not? Because the project in India is a coal mine.

Fred Hochberg, chairman of the Export Import Bank, cited the “projected adverse environmental impact” of the mine. Hochberg said, “President Obama has made clear this administration’s commitment to transition away from high-carbon investments and toward a cleaner energy future.”

Unemployment is at hovering around 10% and Obama’s bureaucrats are fretting about coal use in India? This is insanity! Here’s a newsflash: America gets half of its electricity from coal! But if Obama’s gets his way, under his cap and trade plan your electricity rates will “necessarily skyrocket.”

But if it’s not coal in India, it’s something else, like an oil pipeline from Canada. We all know that we import too much oil from unfriendly and unstable places, including the Middle East and Venezuela. But we also get a lot of oil from our friendly neighbor to the north, and there is a lot of oil in the Canadian tar sands. Believe it or not, the radical environmentalists don’t want us using that either!

Friends, I’ve said this before but Obama’s devotion to the radical Left’s agenda is going to destroy this country. If his socialist tax and spend policies aren’t enough, his radical environmental policies will guarantee our economic decline and double digit unemployment for decades to come."
