Quote of the Day

"...An official for the Justice Department confirmed this week that sanctuary cities, so named because they explicitly violate federal immigration law, won’t be sued.

A spokeswoman for Attorney General Eric Holder told the Washington Times, “There is a big difference between a state or locality saying they are not going to use their resources to enforce a federal law, as so-called sanctuary cities have done, and a state passing its own immigration policy that actively interferes with federal law.”

This logic is backwards. It is the sanctuary cities that are interferring with federal law, while Arizona is trying to help the federal government enforce its own laws!

Thankfully, Senators Jim DeMint (R-SC) and David Vitter (R-LA) are proposing an amendment that would deny funding to the Justice Department for any federal lawsuit against the Arizona law. Their amendment may get a vote next week. It will be interesting to see how many senators side with the overwhelming majority of the American people and vote to end this nonsense."
