Quote of the Day

"For too long, taxpayers have been asked to subsidize organizations that provide or promote abortions, including Planned Parenthood – which receives nearly one-third of its $1.1 billion budget from taxpayer dollars1. Last week, I voted to eliminate federal funding for Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortions in America. Recently, this organization has been caught red-handed in several different clinics, including one in my hometown of Richmond, aiding and abetting sex trafficking and prostitution of minors. This organization does not merit the hard-earned dollars of American taxpayers and I am pleased to report that this measure passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 240-185 (Roll no. 93). The vast majority of Americans are adamantly opposed to taxpayer funded abortion, and this vote is the first step towards making sure taxpayer funded abortion is permanently prohibited. You may rest assured that I will continue to work with my colleagues in the House of Representatives to protect the sanctity of life."

Congressman Eric Cantor
