May 9th: U.S. Senate Candidate E.W. Jackson at Site of Norfolk Mob Attack

U.S. SENATE CANDIDATE E.W. JACKSON
HOLDING PRESS CONFERENCE
AT SITE OF NORFOLK MOB ATTACK
(BRAMBLETON AND CHURCH AVE IN NORFOLK)
WEDNESDAY, MAY 9 AT 2 P.M.

Norfolk-May 8: E.W. Jackson will be holding a press conference at the corner of Brambleton and Church Ave in Norfolk (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza) near the site of the Norfolk Mob attack on two innocent Virginian Pilot reporters on April 14.

Bishop Jackson will be challenging the community, the media and all levels of government from the President to City Council and School Board Members, to combat the "racializing" of incidents and the exploitation of those incidents for political purposes.

He is inviting religious and political groups to unite in a vision of America where violence against innocent individuals is never acceptable regardless of the perceived racial status of the victims. While running as a Republican, Jackson is also challenging the President and all Democrats and Republicans to fulfill the legacy of the civil rights movement for all people. He says of President Obama, "He weighed in on police behavior in the Henry Gates incident in Cambridge and on Trayvon Martin's tragic death in Florida. He should denounce this violence as well and be a force for bringing us together."
