Whatever Happened to Our Country?

It's hard to recount the number of times people have said to me, "I
don't even recognize the country we're living in today."  One week of
news – if even that much – offers a good summary of just some of what's
been going on!

I woke up to the story of a young woman burning a flag hanging on an
overpass on I-66.  The flag was there to commemorate 9/11 and to honor
not just those first responders who answered the calls that day but all
first responders.

That was followed by an article about a teacher who, after two days of
his students refusing to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, chided
those children.  The teacher was REMOVED.

Next came the George Soros strategy of funneling lots of money to elect
new Commonwealth Attorneys (or District Attorneys) who were "weak on crime".

Another article appeared on-line to keep my day going in a downward
direction: the newly-drafted "Abortion Blueprint that Would Strip
Fundamental Rights" – 114 pages from 70 different groups.  What really
stood out was, "The President must only (emphasis added) put forward and
the Senate must only confirm executive nominees who have a demonstrated
positive record on reproductive health, rights and justice".  If you're
not terrified by those words, we need to talk!

The morning wasn't over.  Next up was a Facebook explanation (good one)
of the Electoral College – whereby the proposed elimination would
literally render null and void the vote of well over half of the
nation's/states' voters.

They were on a roll…  Now, any of us who are members of or supporters of
the National Rifle Association, if San Francisco has any say, would be,
by extension, classified as "domestic terrorists".  Combined with Red
Flag laws, rumors of Antifa arming itself (but not being considered a
"domestic terrorist organization"), and hair-brained proposals to
emasculate the 2nd amendment (the supporters of which admit would not
have prevented the mass shootings), we would become sitting ducks in a
shooting gallery.  We must never forget that the 2nd amendment was
created not just to give us the right to protect ourselves and our
families but also to protect us should/when the government goes off the
rails.  So much for Liberty…

I was really wishing the day was almost over, but such was not the
case.   The next cherry on the tree was declining IQs.  The average IQ
in the United States is allegedly 95.  A different report indicated IQs
are declining worldwide.  Speaking of education, there was a report of
textbook treatment – where the heavy emphasis is on how bad the United
States has been over time.

Still rolling…  George Mason Antonin Scalia School of Law is being
pilloried for receiving a $50 million  bequest with the condition that
it teaches conservative principles of justice.  No mention in the
article that only conservative values were to be taught.

Tucker Carlson closed my news day with a story on immigration – on a
borderless nation – an oxymoron if there ever was one – the suffering,
deaths, lost  income, fear, etc., of those Americans living along the
border.

So, why is the country in the shape it's in?  Let's see.  We seem to be
allowing/enabling a total lack of respect for God, Country, Rule of Law,
Life, Rights (not limited to voting and protection), loss of true
Education versus Propaganda, Indoctrination and Miseducation, and loss
of Nation – and we're getting dumber in the process.

That about sums it up – but I still read the news an am aging fast!
