"Knowing full well that picking Paul Ryan as
his running mate would invite Democrat "Mediscare" tactics over
Ryan's reform plans, the Romney campaign was prepared and unleashed a broadside
of ads accusing Obama of cutting $716 billion out of Medicare to fund
Obamacare.
Team
Obama's response has been that they are not cutting benefits, just payments to
doctors, hospitals and insurance companies. Oh, that's all -- they're just not
going to pay the people who care for the elderly.
America's
seniors aren't that stupid. They know that more and more doctors are refusing
to take new Medicare patients because they can't afford the losses, as
this Forbes column
notes.
In
its own way, this is a form of rationing -- a policy decision that will result
in fewer options and less care for senior citizens."
