Final thoughts on the 2024 General Assembly   There is no doubt that 2024 was one of the hardest years for pro-lifers in Virginia. The roadblocks created by pro-abortion majorities in both chambers of the General Assembly posed a bleak climate for any progress on new pro-life laws, and a relentless push for laws designed to provide cover for abortionists who willingly break laws and allow Virginia to become a destination for more and more abortions.  Thankfully an attempt to harm other vulnerable human lives by allowing assisted suicide was stopped by a coalition of disability rights groups, medical associations, human rights organizations, including VSHL and religious groups working together.  The comments sent by constituents was an essential part of the successful effort to stop these bills. March is Trisomy Awareness Month  in Virginia Many thanks to the dedication of Delegate and devoted dad Phil Scott for once again asking the General Assembly to designate March as Trisomy Awareness Month in Virginia.  The 2024 General Assembly has done so.   You can watch Del. Scott's remarks during the final days of the General Assembly addressing the issue and importance of protecting every life, even those who may be born with one of the various Trisomy conditions, like his own daughter Brianna, in the first video below.  In the following video, Delegate Scott addresses the issue of babies with disabilities being misused to promote the pro-abortion agenda.
