Attorney General Miyares attended bill signings with Governor Youngkin, the First Lady, and Senator Todd Pillion at Abingdon High School. Senator Pillion led three important bipartisan bills during this session to crack down on illegal xylazine and help those recovering from addiction.   Biden Administration Called Out On Thursday morning, Attorney General Miyares filed an amicus brief supporting the Petersburg Knights of Columbus' right to hold its traditional Memorial Day Mass prayer gathering at Poplar Grove National Cemetery. The Petersburg Knights of Columbus have held this event at Poplar Grove National Cemetery since the 1960s – until the National Park Service denied their permit request citing a Biden-era policy memorandum that radically reinterpretted long-standing regulations to now prohibit religious services on any Park Service cemetery grounds.     Within hours of AG Miyares' filing, the Biden Administration reversed course and announced it will allow the Knights of Columbus to gather to pray at the Poplar Grove National Cemetery this Memorial Day. Although it's shameful that they were denied in the first place, Virginians can rest easy knowing that Attorney General Miyares is committed to defending your First Amendment rights.
