Fougnie, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother was terminated by her employer for not taking the COVID shot even after she communicated that it violated her religious beliefs. She had worked 100% remotely and had a long and stellar employment history with that employer prior to her termination.
The strength of Fougnie's case was recently bolstered by the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Groff v. DeJoy last year, which significantly reinforced employees' federal rights against religious discrimination under "Title VII," the law at issue here.
