Bryce Reeves Announces Candidacy for Lt. Governor

December 1, 2016

FREDERICKSBURG, VA—Senator Bryce Reeves (R-Spotsylvania) formally announced his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia tonight at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3103.  Reeves has been laying the groundwork for his Lt. Governor campaign as chairman of Revitalize Virginia PAC for the past 9 months.

Colonel Roger Lintz, Reeves' Commander in the Army, two-time Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart recipient stated during his introduction, "Bryce is the conservative leader we need fighting for our Commonwealth. Bryce is a tireless worker and fearless leader whose life has revolved around public service having served as an Army Ranger, a Narcotics and Vice Detective, a Republican grassroots chairman, and now as a State Senator. As our next Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, Bryce is the person Virginians can count on to keep us safe and secure."

"I want to make sure that our Commonwealth, you, and your families are safe and secure." said Reeves. "Secure from terrorists hoping to exploit our vulnerabilities. Secure from criminals who don't care about following the laws of an orderly society."

"I support Bryce Reeves because he is the leader our state needs with job creation and economic development, while putting those who have served our country first." said Cheryl Sawyer, Vice President of Advanced Integrated Technologies in Norfolk, Virginia. "With Bryce's extensive background and proven leadership owning a successful business, his service to our country, and his many years as public servant, I know he will fix the current issues with our state while taking it back in the direction it once was."

Citing the need for true leadership in Richmond, Reeves added, "Now more than ever, we need strong, honest, and trustworthy leaders to put us back on the pathway to prosperity and freedom. I share your values and I will always protect and defend our God-given rights.

Senator Reeves concluded with, "I hope you will join me and fight for Virginia's future. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Bryce Reeves and I am running for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia."

Bryce Reeves represents the 17th Senate District of Virginia. He is a small business owner, former Prince William County Vice-Narcotics Detective, and U.S. Army Veteran (Army Rangers). He spearheaded legislation to save reciprocity for Virginia gun owners and is running for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, focusing on improving Virginia's economy, preserving family values, protecting Constitutional rights, and fighting for taxpayers. Senator Reeves has been featured on Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN. He resides in Spotsylvania County with his wife Anne and their two children.

Family Research Council Action Unveils iVoter Guide Tool To Inform Values Voters

October 28, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Family Research Council Action (FRC Action), announced a new voter tool, iVoter Guide, providing values voters with comprehensive information on all federal elections in all 50 states, and all statewide races in 9 states. The nine states included in this effort are: Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington state, and Wisconsin. FRC Action plans to finish distributing over 4 million election guides prior to Election Day.

The voter guide rates the candidates in each race tracked by FRC Action on a scale of "very conservative," "conservative," "somewhat conservative," "moderate," "somewhat liberal," "liberal," and "very liberal."

The voter guide was compiled using legislative vote ratings, campaign finance data, virtual vote ratings, endorsements from around 300 liberal and conservative organizations, and candidate issue surveys to determine how each candidate would potentially govern given publically available data. The voter tool also includes a tool in which users can search their state and district candidates, find their polling location and share their research with others.

FRC Action president Tony Perkins commented:

"Conservatives can't afford to sit back and watch their country go over the edge with four more years of ultraliberal policies under a Hillary Clinton presidency, a Democratic controlled House and Senate and Democratic controlled state level governments. For America, this cannot be an election about two people running for president. It's about two fundamentally different visions for our country at the national and state levels. If polling has shown us anything, it's how razor-thin the margin of victory may be. In a nation this divided, even one vote can make a difference.

"The outcomes of this year's elections will have a major impact on the future of religious liberty, family values, sanctity of life, and the Supreme Court. In 2012, there were 39 million voting-eligible Christians who did not vote. As we travel the nation, we are telling values voters this is not a time to stand on the sidelines. If we, as values voters, do not stand up and exercise our freedoms now, we may lose them tomorrow," concluded Perkins.

Jane Dittmar Campaign Fooled by Man Claiming to be Lifelong Republican

From Tom Garrett for Congress:

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - This week 5th District Democratic Nominee Jane Dittmar unveiled her latest media ad which shows a man purportedly claiming to be a lifelong Republican.

However, a quick search of the Virginia Public Access Project shows a history of donations to Democrats by Mr. and Mrs. Benford including Senator Creigh Deeds, Delegate David Toscano, Charlottesville City Council Member Kathy Galvin, Ms. Dittmar herself during her run for Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, and Melvin Grady - who ran for Charlottesville City Council after serving time in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

Further, a screenshot of Mr. Benford's Facebook page (not posted in this release as it reveals personal contact information) claims he is an Independent.

Upon release of this ad, 5th District Republican Nominee Tom Garrett issued the following statement:

"I am sure based on my interactions with my opponent that she would never be dishonest enough to falsely claim that Mr. Benford was a Republican. That is why I am flummoxed by the fact that over the last fifteen years, he and his wife have given thousands in political contributions, entirely to Democrats. Shame on him for pulling the wool over Ms. Dittmar's eyes. Sadly, knowing what strong integrity she possesses, I am certain she will pull the false ad."

Garrett's Campaign Manager Zach Werrell added, "It makes sense perhaps that Ms. Dittmar's handlers had a script but had difficulty finding an actual Republican in the Fifth to read it. However, I am convinced that she would never condone nor continue to air such a blatantly dishonest ad."

The election to replace the retiring Rep. Robert Hurt in Congress will take place on November 8, 2016.

Tom Garrett Receives Support for His Defense of Life

As the race for Virginia's Fifth Congressional district works its way inside of two weeks until the November election, national advocacy organizations are beginning to stake positions on their candidate of choice.

After receiving endorsements from both the National Right to Life and the Susan B. Anthony List, 5th District GOP nominee and Virginia Senator Tom Garrett issued the following statement:

"I am honored to receive the support of these organizations who are so dedicated to the preservation of life. It is imperative that we continue to govern not just with moral conviction, but within the confines of our basic, inalienable rights, which include the right to life. This decades' long attack on the unborn by Democrats is unconscionable and I am proud to continue providing a voice for the most vulnerable among us."

In contrast, Democratic nominee Jane Dittmar has been endorsed by NARAL and Emily's List - both pro-abortion groups with agendas so radical that they support late term taxpayer-funded abortions while opposing parental consent to abortion for minors.

Senator Garrett received a 0% rating from NARAL - the National Abortion Rights Action League.

All of the Iowa polls the last few weeks have shown Trump with a significant lead in the Hawkeye state.

Trump is also up in Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Trump 50% (+4)
Clinton 46%

Trump 48% (+2)
Clinton 46%

Trump 49% (+2)
Clinton 47%

Donald Trump has now opened up a five-point lead over Hillary in Ohio, according to a new Bloomberg poll that was released on Wednesday.

Trump is beating Clinton 44% to 39%.

This is huge. Only 3 Presidents have ever lost Ohio and won the election. Those presidents were Grover Cleveland, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John Kennedy.

November 7th: Join AFA for day of prayer and fasting

Join AFA for day of prayer and fasting

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

On March 30, 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln called for a national day of prayer and fasting, in which he addressed what he called the need for "our national reformation as a whole people."

"We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God," Lincoln said, adding that it was our duty "to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness...."

How can we as Americans in 2016 do any less? AFA is joining countless churches, organizations, and individuals in calling for a national day of prayer and fasting. It is time that we, as Christians, recognize our need to repent of our own wickedness and cry out to the Lord for forgiveness - and that He might heal our broken land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

We should heed the voice of President Lincoln. He was the man who steered our nation through its greatest crisis, and he knew that God was the only one who could save us.

AFA has designated Monday, November 7, as a day when I am asking you to join me in seeking God's face. However you participate - one meal, two meals, all day - please join me and others who will be crying out for mercy.

Sign the pledge to let AFA know you will commit Monday, November 7, to a day of prayer and fasting for our nation.

Encourage your church's clergy, your fellow church family members, neighbors, friends, and relatives to join in.

Let AFA know you're committed to praying and fasting!

If our mission resonates with you, please consider supporting our work financially with a tax-deductible donation. The easiest way to do that is through online giving. It is easy to use, and most of all, it is secure.

Tom Garrett Attends Free Speech Rally in Charlottesville

Garrett Attends Free Speech Rally in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA- Wednesday, October 19 -- Today 5th District Democratic Nominee Jane Dittmar held a press conference outlining reasons as to why she deleted her social media accounts for nearly 12 hours just three weeks prior to the election.

In memos circulated to the press by her campaign, she specifically highlighted the reason behind her event was to "denounce Tom Garrett's refusal to condemn hateful, violent, and crude campaign rhetoric."

This comes just days after a GOP office was firebombed in North Carolina with graffiti telling "nazi Republicans" to "leave town or else" and in the midst of multiple incidents of vandalism to GOP signs in the 5th district.

To the surprise of everyone in attendance, 5th District Republican Nominee Tom Garrett showed up in a show of solidarity to condemn the use of threats and messages that distract from the debate on policy.

Upon conclusion of the rally, Garrett issued the following statement:

"To be clear, I wholly condemn threats of violence by supporters of either party. As someone who has been a public servant for over a decade, I have received death threats and have seen my share of rhetoric that has no place in public discourse. Every campaign receives its share of rude and obnoxious posts from people who disagree with candidates on a host of issues - but we do not encourage or perpetuate that."

Garrett's Chief of Staff in the General Assembly Kevin Reynolds echoed that sentiment by saying, "It is every American's right to register their support or opposition but there is no place to use foul or threatening language. We disagree with our opponent on a host of issues but we encourage everyone on both sides of the aisle to conduct themselves civilly."

The event took place at the Free Speech Wall on the downtown mall in Charlottesville, Virginia and was attended by roughly 30 local citizens.
