NEW ENDORSEMENT: Derrick Anderson, Former Special Forces Green Beret and Attorney, Announces Endorsement From Congressman Ronny Jackson

May 31, 2022]

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA - Today, Derrick Anderson, candidate for Congress in Virginia's 7th District, received the endorsement of former Physician and Deputy Assistant to the President Congressman Ronny Jackson.

"I am truly honored to endorse Green Beret and fellow combat veteran Derrick Anderson in his race for Congress. As he has done over the course of 6 deployments, Derrick is a proven leader who is well-suited to serve his country yet again. He'll be a fantastic representative for his constituents in central Virginia, and I look forward to serving alongside Derrick in Congress," said Congressman Ronny Jackson.

"I'm honored to have Congressman Ronny Jackson's support in my primary. As a doctor, a combat veteran, and now a member of Congress, Congressman Jackson has served this great country and its people in more ways than one and I plan to do the same. His support is extremely valuable leading into my June 21st primary and I'm grateful," said Anderson.

Derrick Anderson is a native of Spotsylvania County, a graduate of Courtland High School, was in the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech, and received his J.D. from Georgetown Law.  He is a former Special Forces "Green Beret" with 6 tours of duty overseas, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and various countries throughout the Middle East. Derrick was the first VA-07 candidate named to the Young Gun's "On the Radar" list, and is being supported by SealPAC and multiple sitting members of Congress, including the only Green Beret in Congress, Mike Waltz and U.S. Senator Tom Cotton.

Senator Amanda Chase: We FINALLY have a budget to vote on!

Good morning Virginia,

The good news is that we now have a budget to vote on when we return to session tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1.

Today and tomorrow, I will be scouring through these documents but thought you might want to as well.

Once I've had the opportunity to review them, I will provide you with my thoughts.

You can access budget information on HB 29 and HB 30 on the state budget Web page at:

Bryce Reeves Launches His Second Ad In The 7th Congressional District Titled “My Field”,

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – May 31, 2022 – Today, Senator Bryce Reeves (R- Spotsylvania) announced the launch of his second television ad in the race for the 7th Congressional District.

In the ad, titled "My Field", Bryce Reeves, a former high school football and lacrosse coach, highlights the divisiveness of the Democrat Party saying "Biden and the left celebrate when men win at women's sports and when we divide people by race."

On the release of the ad Bryce Reeves said, "Enough is enough. There is a crisis at our southern border, inflation is through the roof, and people are truly struggling. Instead of solving problems, the Democrats are focused on dividing us every chance they get. It's time for real leadership and I am ready to go to Congress and be a day one leader for our community."

After receiving high praise for Senator Reeves' initial TV ad, where he outlines his lifelong commitment to service, this next ad is meant to continue the leading campaign's momentum by bringing the fight to the Democrats. Senator Reeves' campaign has received an outpouring of support at all levels including the endorsements from sheriffs and conservative legislators across the district, former Governors George Allen and Bob McDonnell, U.S. Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Marco Rubio (R-Florida), Trump Administration officials including ICE Director Tom Homan and Secretary of Energy Rick Perry.

Write a title for your video here
Transcript:
"I don't mean to trigger any woke liberals out there, but if you step onto my field talking politically correct nonsense, you probably won't succeed. But Biden and the left celebrate when men win at women's sports, and when we divide people by race. I fought for parental rights and I took on the liberals in Richmond.  And I know as a coach, the best defense is a good offense. I'm ready to lead, fight, and win. I'm Bryce Reeves, and I approve this message."

A Christian is at greater peril today of being hauled up before the authorities for calling sodomy a sin than anyone in the Sixties would have been for openly practicing it.

Congressman Good Update: Demanding Accountability on Ukraine Spending

Demanding Accountability for Ukraine Spending

Earlier this month, the House voted to add $40 billion in military, humanitarian, and other governmental aid to Ukraine without articulating the extent of U.S. involvement, defining how victory will be determined, or presenting a strategic plan. To date, Congress has approved $54 billion for Ukraine, and I fully expect the Democrats to bring another sizeable funding package up for a vote in the near future.

This week, I joined Representative Yvette Herrell (R-NM), along with nearly two dozen of my House Republican colleagues, in sending a letter to the White House to demand accountability for how the Ukraine aid is spent. We are sending unprecedented levels of taxpayer dollars to assist in this foreign conflict, but there have been no significant briefings or substantive hearings on the use of the funds or the weapons being provided.

Asking the Congressional Budget Office to Defend the Biden Economy

Sometimes I wonder if the President and his allies in Congress are trying to ruin the economy on purpose. As part of the Budget Committee, I am working to hold Washington accountable for the money it is spending and challenging the economic policies of the Biden Administration.

There is no doubt that reckless overspending and America-last energy policies have caused the sharp increase in inflation, driving up the costs of everything we need. Instead of moving toward fiscal responsibility and balancing the federal budget, President Biden is calling for massive increases in spending for the next decade. We cannot keep piling up debt on the backs of our children. That is why I have introduced my Nickel Plan, which would cut 5 cents from every dollar spent until we balance the budget.

This week I questioned the Director of the Congressional Budget Office about the terribly negative impact of the Biden Administration's spending and economic policies. You can watch the full series of questioning here.

Fighting to Protect All Life After Roe v. Wade

Representative Jim Banks (R-IN) led a meeting I attended with the Republican Study Committee (RSC) and pro-life groups, including the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) and Heritage Action, regarding the upcoming Dobbs v. Jackson decision.

We may soon have the ability to protect all life, following the anticipated reversal of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision. After 49 years and 63 million babies killed, we must rise to the moment and be ready to pursue a bold pro-life agenda. I am proudly supporting legislation such as Rep. Alex Mooney's (R-WV) Life at Conception Act and Rep. Mike Kelly's (R-PA) Heartbeat Bill, both of which provide federal protection at the earliest stages of life.

I recently spoke with Townhall reporter Rebecca Downs to discuss next steps in the Pro-Life movement. You can read more of my thoughts here.

ACLJ: INFANTICIDE Bill Passes

One of the most evil abortion bills we've ever seen – legalizing infanticide – just passed the full House in California and is moving to the Senate.

The radical Left is using the leaked Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade to unleash an unprecedented assault on life, not only with the federal efforts to make Roe permanent, but also in the states.

We've sent legal letters to California officials detailing the horror this bill could unleash, forcing two amendments, but they are leaving one of the WORST parts of the bill intact. Now we're preparing to send a critical legal letter to the CA Senate in the coming days to defeat this bill.

As we take urgent legal and legislative action for life across 28 states, we need your help. Together, we are unborn babies' last line of defense. Take urgent action now.

URGENT Petition: Stop Barbaric New Infanticide Laws.

Read Our Update: Amended CA Abortion Bill Still Infanticide.

We JUST unearthed massive Deep State subversion through our lawsuit against the Biden Administration.

First, we caught Biden's former White House Press Secretary Psaki in a BIG COVER-UP trying to "shut . . . down" key information on the Iran nuclear deal. We won in federal court, forcing the Biden Deep State to give us the emails.

Now, we JUST FORCED the Biden Administration to turn over a key memo of a previously undisclosed secret meeting between "US former ambassadors and policy analysts" and Iran's foreign minister DURING the Trump presidency.

Former Obama-Biden officials – the Deep State – conducted shadow diplomacy, secretly meeting with Iran, the world's largest state sponsor of terror.

We're directly battling in a dozen active lawsuits in federal court to defeat the Deep State, and we're already preparing our next round of lawsuits.

We can expose and defeat the Biden Deep State in court – we just need YOU.

Sign Our Petition: Defeat the Deep State in Court.

Action Report: ACLJ Unearths Obama-Biden Shadow Diplomacy.

We just filed a critical written report to the U.N. demanding action to stop this barbaric violence against innocent Christians in Nigeria, as 20 more Christians were killed.

We're also preparing a legal letter to the State Department demanding Nigeria be placed back on the persecution watchlist, and we're preparing a new FOIA over Biden's betrayal of Nigerian Christians.

Read Our Report: Islamic Radicals Execute 20 Christians.

We just submitted a critical amicus brief to the Michigan Supreme Court to stop Governor Whitmer's attempt to bypass the state constitution and make Roe permanent by lawsuit. Now the court is forcing her to respond.

VA Delegate John McGuire: May Update 2022

Our children are #1. There is no doubt America is experiencing a spiritual crises. Those who ridicule us for saying thoughts and prayers tells us much. The massacre that left 19 children and two adults dead in Texas is EXTREMELY heartbreaking. To succeed as a country we must be a moral nation. Evil does exist and we must be vigilant. Let's keep an eye on each other. If you see something, say something, and do something. The breakdown of the family, homes without a father, removal of prayer from school, and politicians who have declared war on our police have caused many of the problems we are experiencing. Next year I will again introduce my SRO (armed officer) requirement in every school bill (dems voted no) and will look into including a price cap for private schools to equal or not exceed what public schools pay, and more. Guns do not kill people, people kill people. England banned guns years ago yet London's murder rate exceeded New York in 2018 so the mayor banned knives read here.

I cannot imagine what the Robb Elementary School and Ulvade, TX community are feeling. PLEASE PRAY FOR THEIR FAMILIES and may God have mercy on us.
Memorial Day Weekend

We would not have a country without our military. On Memorial Day we honor and remember U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. I hope you and your family have a good Memorial Day weekend. Never forget freedom isn't free and never forget the many men and women have given there all for us.

Memorial Day Plans

Dear Friends,

James "Jimmy" Buriak was born in Salem in 1990, graduated from Salem High School in 2008, graduated from Roanoke College in 2012, and joined the US Navy in 2017. While in Guam in 2020, he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for saving a tourist while he was off duty. When asked about, he said "I just happened to be the person there and I would like to think that regardless of who it was, they would have done the same. Someone said they needed help, and anyone would do the same in my shoes."

On August 31, 2021, AWS1 James Buriak and four of his fellow service members lost their lives when their helicopter crashed into the ocean outside of San Diego. He was survived by his wife Megan and their young son. This afternoon many will be gathering at Olde Salem Brewing to bring awareness to his legacy, enjoy good food and drink, and to raise funds for future Navy and Marine Corps families who experience aviation mishaps. Details and ticket information are available here. Contributions may also be made to the AWS1 James Buriak Foundation here

This weekend, our nation honors the thousands of Americans known and unknown who like AWS1 James Buriak gave the last full measure of devotion in defense of our liberties.
Included below is information about several opportunities this weekend to honor those who gave their lives in defense of our liberties.

Sincerely,

David Suetterlein

Patriot Graves,

Friday, May 27, 2022

By Gary Bauer

Monday marks Memorial Day, a national observance first known as Decoration Day. The first Memorial Day was observed on May 30, 1868, on the orders of General John Logan, commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. Flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

Initially meant as a time to remember those who fell during the bloody battles of our brutal Civil War, the holiday's significance has been extended to honor all those who paid the ultimate price for our nation.

As they have done every year since 1948, soldiers of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment placed flags at more than 200,000 gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery. They will remain at Arlington National Cemetery throughout the holiday weekend, making sure that the flags remain upright.

Of all the dangers facing our country, perhaps the greatest is the one that doesn't make many headlines -- our collective national amnesia.

Our history textbooks are sanitized to be politically correct and give our children little sense of the greatness of the nation they live in. In fact, our children are increasingly taught the exact opposite, that America was never great, that it was founded on evil, slavery and genocide. Our Founding Fathers are seldom mentioned unless it is part of a controversy about racism or some other scandal.

I am often struck by how many American kids have nothing good to say about their own country. Their knowledge of the sacrifices made to establish and preserve their freedom is virtually non-existent. They are the recipients of the greatest freedom, prosperity and opportunity that any society has ever produced, yet they are unaware of the price that was paid for it.

At my father's table, I learned love of country in a way that only a Marine could teach it. Dad taught me that patriotism wasn't a theory -- it was flesh and blood, real sacrifice and pain.

All of these things – from these patriot graves and the memorials that honor them to the values they died for – are bound together, as Abraham Lincoln said, by the chords of memory. And we must never let those memories fade.

You are your children's most important teacher. They are listening.

Explain to your children the price that was paid to stop the evil of fascism and the cancer of Soviet communism. Tell them why there was a Berlin Wall, what happened at Okinawa, on the beaches of Normandy, at Ground Zero and over the fields of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Take a moment this weekend to teach your children and grandchildren to love the things we love and to honor the things we honor. Finally, let's remind ourselves that liberty is a gift from God and that each generation has paid in flesh and blood to preserve it.

As General George Patton said: "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."

New York City’s Alien Voting Law under Fire

May 26, 2022

IRLI shows court that law violates the Constitution

WASHINGTON—Today, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) submitted a friend-of-the-court brief in a case challenging a law the New York City Council has passed giving the right to vote in city elections to alien residents of the city who are permitted to work in the United States. At stake is the sovereignty of the people of the United States—American citizens—over the nation's largest city.

In the judicial precedents interpreting the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, IRLI explains in its brief, discrimination against groups courts have held to be "protected classes" must be struck down unless it passes "strict scrutiny," that is, can be shown to be necessary to achieve a compelling governmental interest. Aliens, racial groups, and groups defined by national origin have all been held to be protected classes.

IRLI shows that American citizens, too, should be considered a protected class. The alien voting law, IRLI points out, weakens the relative voting strength of American citizens in New York City, by letting those who are not citizens vote. The law also discriminates against voters in New York City who were born in this country and thus are of American national origin, because the law only adds foreign-born persons to the voting rolls, thus diluting the votes of the American-born. Those of American national origin are a protected class, as well, and laws burdening them have to receive strict scrutiny.

In fact, IRLI's brief exposes the real motivation of this law: aggressive ethnic politics. Its proponents exalted that it would "shift" power away from the American-born to other national origin groups, such as New York City residents from the Dominican Republic, China, and Mexico, a large proportion of whom are not citizens. It would thus increase the power of politicians who regard themselves as representing not their citizen constituents, whether American- or foreign-born, but these national origin groups. In the words of one council member, "We're all here to support our ethnic groups."

The alien voting law cannot withstand the strict scrutiny demanded by its discrimination against American citizens and those of American national origin. Indeed, the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that citizens have a right to be governed by their fellow citizens and not foreigners, and that aliens by definition are outside of our political community. This fundamental interest American citizens have in democratic self-government far outweighs any interest New York City might claim in giving the vote to aliens.

"It's rare for a law passed in an American legislative body to burden those of American national origin, let alone American citizens," said Christopher Hajec, IRLI's director of litigation. "But this law does both. It's a basic constitutional principle that the power of self-government may not be transferred away from citizens, including foreign-born citizens. And once you see the game of ethnic politics they were playing, at the expense of people born in the USA, it becomes glaringly clear that this law is unconstitutional discrimination in voting."

"This law is an attack on the very idea of American nationhood," said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. "The sovereign of this democratic nation is the people, U.S. citizens. When their power is eroded, our nation begins to lose its independence. And that erosion will escalate. If this law is not struck down, next there will be a call to allow aliens to vote in federal elections. We hope the court is assisted by our brief, and invalidates this assault on the sovereignty of the American people."

The case is Fossella v. Adams, No. 85007/2022 (N.Y. Supreme Court, County of Richmond).

Delegate Phillip Scott: A New Vision for the Old Dominion

Join Americans for Prosperity and Myself to Discuss a New Vision for the Old Dominion
Friends,

I hope you will join me for a policy discussion with Americans for Prosperity at Highmark Brewery in Fredericksburg on June 2nd at 6:30PM.

Americans for Prosperity played a key role in supporting my candidacy and ensuring that I was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates. They support pro-liberty candidates in favor of medical freedom, school choice, free markets, and related issues. I am grateful for their support in my last election cycle and hope you will come out to join our discussion.

Delegate Phillip Scott:

I Know Whom I Have Believed

By Steve Huston

This Memorial Day I urge you to be in prayer that God, by His Holy Spirit, would draw soldiers around the world to Christ, the only way of salvation and true freedom. Pray that our nation would once again call upon our God, the Creator of all, in humiliation and repentance, during these times of confusion and upheaval. Pray that those in leadership positions would either bow their knee to Almighty God and submit to the laws of this land (our Constitution) or that God, by His grace, power, and love, would remove them for His glory, honor, and praise. This we pray, in part, that the sacrifice of those men and women we remember and honor today is not in vain. Pray with assurance; for He is still sovereign, still directing in the affairs of men, and is still working all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are the called according to His purpose.

Is Team Biden lost in the “Fog of Peace” – or worse?

May 27, 2022

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

Memorial Day is more than just a time to remember the sacrifice of fallen American heroes. It's a living testament to the essentiality of practicing "Peace through Strength" to prevent needless wars – and to win those we must fight.

Yesterday, Secretary of State Tony Blinken delivered a speech about China antithetical to that time-tested philosophy. He failed even to mention the unrestricted warfare the Chinese Communist Party has waged against us for decades, let alone the growing prospect of its imminent military action.

Instead, Blinken focused on "cooperation" and "competition" – the sort of submissive blather one would expect from the former director of the Penn Biden Center, which received some $54 million in anonymous Chinese donations.

Such pap bespeaks, at best, of what Dr. Bradley Thayer calls "the Fog of Peace." At worst, it smacks of betrayal of more than Peace through Strength.

This is Frank Gaffney.

Godless America,

May 25, 2022

By Gary Bauer

For fifty years, secular progressive values have permeated our culture. Moral relativism – the idea that there is no right and wrong, only "your truth" – is the prevailing philosophy of the age.

With each passing day, the Judeo-Christian worldview that guided our Founding Fathers and serves as the foundation of our nation is further eroded away.

Many of our children are being taught that they are the product of a mindless evolutionary process. There is no God that made them and loves them. There is no divine spark in them.

They are mere animals on a planet speeding through the emptiness of space. Their existence is without meaning and has no purpose. When they die, there will be only an empty void.

Mental illness, drug addiction, suicide, mindless violence, meaningless sex and abortion on demand are destroying our youth. They are all symptoms of America's rejection of God and of His Word.

The number one priority for all of us should be to save or own children and grandchildren from the growing nihilism of our age.

The Breakdown Of The Family

The traditional American family – a mother and a father and their children – has been under attack for decades. It is mocked by elites and in the popular culture.

Marxists everywhere, including in the United States, attack it because intact families are a bulwark against Marxist/socialist big government schemes.

No society in the entire history of civilization has attempted the bizarre experiment of raising so many of its children without fathers. But we are rapidly headed down that road and far worse, and no one dares to address it in our national political discourse.

In our big cities, gangs take the place of fathers and families. Drugs are pouring across our southern border, killing hundreds of Americans every day. But we largely ignore that.

What's happened to us is exactly what our Founding Fathers warned against when they said only a virtuous people can remain free. It's exactly what Ronald Reagan warned against when he said, "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

What We Can Do

While we all pray for and work toward reversing this cultural moral decline, there is something we can do immediately to make such schoolhouse carnage less likely.

We have security guards in our banks to protect our money. We have security guards at sporting events, entertainment venues and at meetings with high-profile celebrities and politicians.

But there is still resistance to putting security guards in our schools to protect our precious children. Parents in every school district should demand that it be done now.
When possible, there should be one central point of entry and exit.

The bad kid with a gun yesterday was stopped by a good guy with a gun. We need more such good guys guarding our children in our schools today.

There are plenty of retired police officers and veterans who could fill these jobs. There are billions of COVID relief dollars sloshing around state budgets that have not been spent. We just appropriated $40 billion to help protect the children of Ukraine.

Don't tell me we can't afford to protect the children of America!

However, not only has this not been done, for the past two years the "defund the police" movement has actually been kicking police officers out of some schools. There's no curing stupid.
