Quote of the Day

"In August of 2008, Rick Santorum made a speech at Ave Maria University. In his speech he declared that Satan has his sights set on the United States of America...

Rick Santorum was right in 2008. He is more right now. Good versus evil. Light versus darkness. It has been the case from the Garden of Eden, to Isaac and Ishmael and it will be the case all the way to Armageddon. Good and evil cannot coexist. One must prevail. We are living in the twilight. Choose sides wisely."

VA Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is presenting the healthcare case as unconstitutional legislation in the US Supreme Court with another AG on February 26, 27 & 28. This may be our best chance to overturn this offense against our health care freedoms.

Americans for Prosperity is hosting a Hands Off My Health Care rally for grassroots activists from Virginia and across the country at the Supreme Court on March 27th. AFPVA will host bus rides for $10 R/T to DC from many locations including a Culpeper and Warrenton Bus!  Online registration is required via AFP link. Seats are limited.

The Supreme Court Justices will be able to see and hear us on the steps from their windows; decisions are influenced by this!

February 20th: Donna Holt will be speaking in Culpeper

Founding Fathers Republican Women of Culpeper, VA invite you to our February 20th meeting, 7:00 PM, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Parish Hall, N. East St., Culpeper, VA.

Nationally known, dynamic and passionate advocate for property rights and preserving our freedom and liberty, Donna Holt will speak on the looming threat to private property rights as the Commonwealth of Virginia and the rest of the nation moves toward a more "sustainable future".

Donna Holt, President and Executive Director of Virginia Campaign for Liberty, will reveal the official documents published by countless government agencies and non-government organizations as public policy for the transformation of our great nation for a "Sustainable America".  These documents were rarely reported in the news, and average working people as well as state and local lawmakers have no idea what sustainable development really means, and even less knowledge of what is in store for the future.

If the vision of sustainable development continues to unfold as it has in the last decade, life in the Commonwealth and the rest of the nation will be quite different. You will learn the origins of Sustainable Development, what it really means, how it came to the United States, how it undermines the principles of federalism and the U.S. Constitution, how it is being implemented and how it will result in a wrenching transformation of America.

Refreshments will be served. Please join us.

February 21st: Dr. James C. Miller III at Madison

Dr. James C. Miller III will be the Guest Speaker at the February 21st meeting of the Madison County Republican Women, 6:30-8:30 PM, at the Madison Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Miller served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Postal Service under President George W. Bush and was a member of President Ronald Reagan's Cabinet.  Currently, Dr. Miller is a Senior Advisor at Husch Blackwell, LLP, an international commercial law firm.

The evening's menu features Chicken casseroles, Cranberry sauce, Salads, Green beans, Coleslaw, Asian slaw, Desserts by our members, Tea and Lemonade. Dinner: $7.

Meeting Location: Madison Presbyterian Church is just off Rt. 29N on 1236 Fishback Road at the north end of the Town of Madison, VA 22727. For information, call (540) 547-2156 or (540) 932-4300.

The United States Supreme Court, Washington, D.C.
    March 27th at 1:00 PM

Over the past few years, Americans for Prosperity has been the premier grassroots group educating the public on the dangers of the President's health care bill. AFP's Hands Off My Health Care Tour criss-crossed the nation in 2009 hosting over 300 events and rallies. Then, in late 2009, over 5,000 activists gathered for AFP's Code Red Rally in Washington.

We must remind the Court and all of Washington that the President's health care takeover is an affront to free-market principles and our Constitution. Not only is the individual mandate unconstitutional, but it forces consumers to enter the health insurance market against their will. Click here to read more about the individual mandate.

    Quote of the Day

"Everyone is going to pay more for health insurance. There is no such thing as a "free lunch." Every ObamaCare mandate comes with a cost, and the costs for these "free services" will simply be built into the price of every premium.

This is what happens when big government assumes so much power. "The government that is big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have." This is why ObamaCare must be repealed. This is why Obama must be defeated!"

    Quote of the Day

"Why would our Constitution not be just as good a foundation for a nation’s government today as it was in 1788?
The answer is that it is, and always will be, an excellent foundation for the government of any nation. It was and still is the clearest legal protection of man’s freedoms on earth. Since our founding, our country’s unparalleled success and majestic display of human freedom has been a beacon of hope to the peoples of other nations. For years, immigrants from other countries have fled their oppressive or failing governments to come to our shores because they too sensed the meaning behind the words of our Constitution. I cannot think of another document I would more highly recommend to a country looking to make a fresh start."

    Quote of the Day

"Many states have begun to use Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards to provide a simplified way to distribute welfare funds to needy families. But the EBT card has highlighted another very concerning issue: welfare funds on Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards are being used at strip clubs, liquor stores, and casinos.

This fraudulent use must be addressed. The taxpayer dollars in this program were intended to help those who have basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter - not to be misused for gambling and adult entertainment.

The House passed legislation last week, H.R. 3567, to prevent the fraudulent misuse of funds within the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) welfare system.

It just makes sense that states should implement policies to prohibit use of TANF funds in these venues. You can read more about the bill on the sponsor’s website here. "

    Quotes of the Day

"Though today's job growth numbers are good news, it's the equivalent of winning a foot race with a cinder block strapped to your leg. Sure, you might cross the finish line, but you could get there a lot faster if you cut off the dead weight. America's economy is struggling to break free from the dead weight of debt, reckless spending, uncertainty, over-regulation, high taxes and a convoluted, counterproductive tax code."

"The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event that attracts over 3,000 people. Every U.S. president in recent decades has attended and spoken, and all of them have shed politics at the door. But not Barack Obama.

Yesterday he shamelessly wrapped his left-wing socialist political agenda in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't think Obama wears glasses, but he clearly needs a pair. He has looked at Karl Marx and confused him with Jesus Christ."
