Bryce Reeves Announces Endorsement by Governor Bob McDonnell

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – May 2, 2022 –  Today, Senator Bryce Reeves (R-Spotsylvania) announced a new endorsement for his campaign in the 7th Congressional District, by former Governor Bob McDonnell. This endorsement continues the swelling momentum surrounding the Reeves campaign in the race against Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger.

Governor McDonnell said, "I first met Bryce Reeves as a grassroots leader and unit chairman, and could tell he was an energetic servant leader for the conservative cause. As Governor, Bryce ran a spirited victorious campaign for State Senate providing a Republican Senate majority when he defeated a 28-year incumbent. I signed Bryce's principled legislation in 2013, which confirmed parents fundamental right to their children's upbringing, education, and care. A modern moral imperative for the nation. Bryce is an effective conservative leader with the heart of a servant and patriot, who will legislate with distinction in Washington. I'm delighted to endorse this former Army Ranger and police officer for Virginia's 7th Congressional district."

Bryce Reeves stated, "I had the pleasure of working with Governor McDonnell as a freshman Senator after my 2011 victory flipped the Virginia Senate to the Republicans. We were able to work together on countless issues, including enshrining into law that parents have the fundamental right to the care, upbringing, and education of their children. I'm honored to have his support in this crucial campaign. Just like my win in 2011 flipped the Senate, I look forward to winning this November and taking back the house."

Governor Bob McDonnell served as Governor of Virginia from 2010 to 2014. Prior to his service in the Governor's Mansion, he served as Attorney General and in the House of Delegates. Governor McDonnell is the second Virginia Governor to endorse Bryce's campaign, following an earlier endorsement from Governor George Allen.

Bryce Reeves has also received a large outpouring of support from current and former members of the General Assembly. These supporters include Del. Margaret Ransone (R-Westmoreland), Del. Bobby Orrock (R-Caroline), Del. Rob Bell (R-Albemarle), Del. Nick Freitas (R-Culpeper), Del. Tara Durant (R-Stafford), Del. Phillip Scott (R-Spotsylvania), Senator Richard Stuart (R-Westmoreland) former Del. Mark Dudenhefer (R-Stafford) and former Speaker Bill Howell (R-Stafford).

Other key endorsements for the Reeves campaign include U.S. Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Marco Rubio (R-Florida) as well as other national groups and leaders including former Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, former Governor and US Senator George Allen, SEAL PAC, GOPAC, and FreedomWorks. Prominent activists in Virginia like Paul Galanti and Pete Snyder have also endorsed Reeves in the 7th District race.
