Speaking Of Marriage And Religious Liberty

By Gary Bauer

Dr. Angela McCaskill is the latest victim in the left's cultural jihad against our traditional values.

Dr. McCaskill is the first deaf African-American woman to earn a Ph.D. from Gallaudet University, a tremendous institution for hearing impaired-students. Dr. McCaskill has served for 23 years as Gallaudet University's chief diversity officer. But her career is at stake. She was suspended by the university this week when it was reported that she had signed a petition in support of normal marriage.

No one is accusing her of failing to do her job. Many gay students praised her work. But signing a petition at church one Sunday is evidently enough to put her decades-long career in jeopardy. Apparently Gallaudet has little tolerance for diversity when it comes to matters of faith. Once again, we are seeing how homosexual rights trumps all else in the liberal pecking order, even faith, race and privacy.

My friends, do not fall for the liberal lie that same-sex "marriage" won't affect you. Just ask Angela McCaskill.

ACTION ITEM: Call Gallaudet's public relations office at (202) 651-5505. Ask them to respect religious liberty and reinstate Dr. Angela McCaskill.

Then share this information with your friends and family members. Remind them that the people of 31 states have voted overwhelmingly to protect normal marriage, but Barack Obama wants to force same-sex "marriage" on every state in the union. Encourage them to use their vote this November to defend our freedoms, including religious liberty, by voting for the Romney/Ryan ticket.
