Let us pray,
Our heavenly father; giver of life, creator of the universe, we are thankful for the many blessings you have given our nation.
We pray for our friends and neighbors who need your blessings. We pray that you will give them strength to carry on.
Most of all, we pray for knowledge and insight. Many of our fellow Americans are misguided due to the lack of knowledge and understanding. Many of us have lost our willpower and initiative for self-preservation. Many of our citizens see themselves as victims when they are not. We pray that you will give these citizens intuitive knowledge.
Our leaders choose to exploit the laziness and dependency of uninformed people for their own power and prestige. Our faith teaches us to seek knowledge and understanding.
We pray especially for our men and women serving in the armed forces of our nation. We give thanks for their patriotism and service.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our lord and savior.
