CULPEPER, VA - Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Virginia Delegate Nick Freitas voted against expanding Obamacare in the House earlier this year and has been a vocal opponent of the measure.
In response to today's vote in the Senate to expand Obamacare, Freitas said, "The Obamacare expansion in Virginia was a bad idea 6 years ago and it is a worse idea today. Government monopolization gives power to politicians and bureaucrats over patients and doctors."
"If the goal is to provide quality and affordable healthcare to all our citizens, government micromanagement is not the answer," Freitas continued. "We need to focus on policies that allow greater competition and innovation."
Del. Freitas hosted a press conference opposing the expansion earlier this year with Americans for Prosperity. To watch, click here.
