Here is a statement from Marshall Keene, CCRC Chairman, in response to Governor Northam's declaration of a state of emergency in advance of the 2A Rally planned for Monday, January 20, 2020:
"The rally planned on Monday in Richmond by [the Virginia Citizens Defense League] is no different than the 2A rally held here in Culpeper last week, which proved to be a peaceful demonstration of our First and Second Amendment Constitutional rights," Culpeper County Republic Committee Chair Marshall Keene said Wednesday night.
"The governor's state of emergency declaration and his ban on guns at the rally is another attempt to trample on our constitutional rights and keep people from having a voice. His references to compare this rally and the incident in Charlottesville are offensive and hypocritical, to say the least."
