The Genius of President Trump

Drain The Swamp!

By Ponch K. McPhee

The Declaration was declared to the king in 1776 ~ here we are in 2020 ~ a generation x 3 or 4, fighting and praying for real truth and liberty. We have to restore our freedom and independence to gather and rally in Virginia. You can feel assured that change is coming and you will make that change by getting involved. Encourage friends and family to support re-opening the corridors of commerce in the commonwealth. The liberal left is doing everything they can to keep Virginia citizenry from getting out and being involved. Write or call your Governor in every state, your Representative and your State Senator. Speak out to local committees and political groups and make it known that if they are not applauding the President or mentioning him by name, then they are out of line and off base. The most important action you need to take is to wake up every citizen who is within reach of your voice or written word, and explain to them common sense and the need to support President Donald J. Trump at once. President Trump is the genius Commander in Chief. He is (and remains) the stop gate against tyranny who is draining the swamp. You can do many things to aid President Trump. Participate online with political forums (there are thousands available) Get involved by contacting delegates for candidates. Speak out against individuals who say they are Republicans but are something completely different. Contact the RPV and likewise in other states. Reach out to members of the state central committee. Become a member of political committees as an associate member (once gatherings are under way again).

Show the President you support his re-election by contacting or liking him on Twitter or even his congressional and senate support on Twitter. Push back professionally against the lies and deceit amongst the numerous websites across the internet (which is infinite). Again, we are 3-4 generations of Americans fighting the good fight to preserve this republic! Don't give up and never say it's over. Keep your faith in Jesus and do your homework on not only candidates, but also who is speaking up for President Trump. Who is not speaking well of the President and what he believes in? Find out who they are and call them out. He or she, who doesn't support President Donald Trump completely in every way, doesn't understand this faith driven republic! (IMHO)  These sorts are just Not on my team (with all due respect) because I am with the likes of Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Paine, Trump, Nunes, Jordan, Barr, Durham & Patrick Henry (just to name a few). So, stay positive, keep the prayers going strong and remember to speak out and support President Trump! President Donald J. Trump is the genius Commander in Chief who stepped up and fought off the hoax and continues to drain the swamp. This incredible movement was brought forth because of who he is. We are not a democracy but a sovereign Republic!

To be very specific ~ the commonwealth's Republican identity (like many other states) has been under attack for quite some time and not just from the radical socialists. We, the citizens of Virginia in particular, who vote Republican have been pan handled by so-called conservative versions of republicanism and it has been cradled via like-minded, so-called conservatives who believe as they do, for a long while. This fake stuff has got to stop. If you are confused of your status as a Republican, you can clear it up easily. Show other true Republicans that you unconditionally support and applaud President Trump and will always do so from this point forward.  Keep America great and drain the swamp completely. God save the Republic and President Trump! Please get involved and re-elect the President and pro-Trump candidates ~ Amen!

Socialism and Charitable Giving

By Kim Smith

The United States has always been known as a giving country – of time, resources and money – lots of it – to those less fortunate.  Perhaps it's in our DNA – our Judeo-Christian heritage and our pioneer heritage that demanded innovations, and our fight to the death for liberty.

What, though, would US generosity look like under a socialist government?  After all, about 50% of the millennials are receptive to living under socialism – and they are someday in the not-too-distant future going to be a political force and in positions of leadership.

Let's first look at what socialism does to a country:

1)      It kills economic growth, gradually slowing economies to the point where not enough tax revenue can be produced to sustain them (see killed Soviet Union, dying Greece, nearly dead Venezuela, and US and Western Europe on a slippery slope).  It goes against economic law.

2)     It stifles free speech, where conservative speakers are disrupted (US), speech "codes" make conservative arguments illegal (Canada), where speaking against the government brings the risk of imprisonment (China, USSR) because it requires "protection, propaganda, intimidation and darkness to survive".  It replaces education with indoctrination.

3)     It leads to increasingly tyrannical government because it cannot survive if people can choose the government they want.  Government becomes increasingly centralized and bureaucratized, distant from the people, more menacing.

4)     It creates strife and division, turning people against one another.  A "victim" class is created and those who won't be controlled are vilified.

5)     The ends justify the means – and the rules are different for different groups.  Due process dies, the rule of law (applied equally) dies, and gulags are created.

6)     People die: an estimated 100 million in the 20th century.  (China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Angola, etc.)

7)     It destroys the inner person.  It removes the incentive for hard work.  It allows, and perhaps encourages, the "blame game" instead of assuming personal responsibility.

8)     Perhaps the biggest, socialism has created war on faith, a linchpin in the creation of our nation.  The need to help one's neighbor, to give to those in need, to lend a helping hand.

For non-profits (501(c)(3)s) (as opposed to private charity and the other 19 classifications), the fact is that today, nearly 1 in every 10 jobs is in the non-profit sector and not-for-profits are now equal to manufacturing.  (Jobs by percentage:  55% health services; 16% education; 12% social assistance; 7% grants, religious, civic, professional, environmental;  3% arts and recreation; 6% other).  They paid $425 billion in wages (2003). – which increased by over 37% between then and 2013 ($634 billion).  This does not include the value of volunteer hours – estimated as contributing $167 billion to $184 billion to the economy in 2018.

How does America stack up in comparison to other giving countries?  Most, but not all, list the most generous in the following order:  the United States, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Singapore, India, Russia (where 50% of the people now identify as Christians) and the Netherlands.

Politicians in the US who are pushing the "democratic socialism" mantra often refer to the Scandinavian countries -   Norway (#14), Denmark (20), Finland (24) and Sweden (25), yet their own leaders indicate a different story.  Said one : "Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy"; it's a "successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams…" (Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen).  Sweden fell into an economic abyss in the 1990's and reversed course by "deregulating, freeing trade, cutting taxes, …issuing school vouchers".  All need the "economic engine" of the United States to survive and provide the benefits they do.

The socialist/communist countries are at the bottom of the Charities Aid Foundation list – with China (#140) being dead last and the majority of the former Soviet Union being in the bottom 20 of generosity.

There was one surprise – Myanmar – a known totalitarian state which ranked on that list as #1 (with the US at #2).  Wondering if this was a politically motivated list, the conclusion is "no".  (Charitable Aid Foundation)  What makes Myanmar such a generous country is its FAITH.  Instead of the Christianity that motivates so many of the top countries, in this case, it's Buddhism, but again, faith.  There is a belief that generosity in this life will lead to profound benefits in the next, that wholesome actions (kusala) is a reward in itself.

Imagine a socialist United States where so much has to be changed by definition – and above all, a world without faith.  Feeding the poor, cuddling a kitten, comforting a dying stranger, mentoring a child, serving a wounded veteran and so much more would be lost to our spirits.

As a friend observed after showing military personnel from many different countries how we do things in America, none of the other nations had charitable giving and support that even remotely measured up to ours.  And Winston Churchill remarked:  While capitalism might share blessings unequally,  "the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries".

Several articles worth reading – that provided information for this article – are "These are the most telling failures of Socialism" (Heritage); "Socialism Now, Socialism Tomorrow, Socialism Forever – The Ruin of Nations" (Investors.com);  and "How Socialism Rots the Soul, the Culture and the Country" (The Revolutionary Act.com).   (None of these focus on private giving – neighbor helping neighbor, family helping family – but other articles do focus on our own governments regulations and restrictions to such actions.)

Quote of the Day

"We have to remember . . . it's Communist China, run by the Communist Party of China. Don't ever forget who they are. . . The Communist Party runs the country. They make all these decisions and they're anti-American, they want world domination. They're not a competitor, they are an adversary now. . .

"They steal our jobs, they steal our technology and now they've intentionally caused a problem that's killing American jobs, killing Americans . . . and people all over the world.

"So I think the biggest thing we can do is make sure Americans stop buying their products. And it's a twofer because then we help build our own economy up again by bringing manufacturing back here."

Criminal Aliens Demand Covid Release

May 8, 2020

IRLI shows they have no right to release into America

WASHINGTON—Yesterday, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals urging the court to reverse a lower-court’s order that 20 criminal aliens be released from their detention in York County, Pennsylvania, because of coronavirus fears.

Petitioners were detained, awaiting their removal proceedings, in the York County Correctional Facility because they had committed such crimes as assault, assault with a deadly weapon, firearms offenses, cocaine trafficking, and money laundering. Several had failed previously to appear for criminal trials or committed additional crimes while out on bail, parole, probation, or other conditions of release.

Nevertheless, the lower-court judge granted their petition for a temporary restraining order before the government even had a chance to respond to it. In its brief on appeal, IRLI shows that this order was erroneous because these criminal aliens chose their own detention. They are not prisoners in the usual sense, but may always leave detention by seeking immediate removal back to their home countries. Also, IRLI shows that the proper remedy for the kind of petition they made is not release, but improvement in the allegedly dangerous conditions of their confinement.

“It is absurd that violent felons should be released into the public because they claim their detention is dangerous, when they refuse to escape that danger themselves by going home,” said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. “What they really are claiming is not a right to be released, but a right to be released into the United States—a right that Congress has denied them because of their crimes. At most, they deserve safer conditions in detention. For the sake of public safety, we hope the appellate court reverses this error-ridden order quickly.”

The case is Hope v. Doll, No. 20-1784 (Third Circuit).

EMET Applauds Congressman Greg Steube (R, FL) for Urging the Examination of U.S. Military Assistance to Lebanon

(Washington, D.C., May 4, 2020) On Thursday, April 30th, 2020, Congressman Greg Steube (Republican, Florida), sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, urging the reexamination of the U.S. military assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) due to their cozy relationship with Hezbollah. The letter was signed by Doug Lamborn, (Republican, Colorado), Brian Mast, (Republican, Florida), Scott Perry, (Republican, Pennsylvania), and Louie Gohmert, (Republican, Texas).

Since 2010, the United States has
provided over $1.82 billion in security assistance investment in the LAF.  In recent years the LAF has received an average of $224 million each year in combined Department of State and Department of Defense military grant assistance.

Following the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon, the UN Security Council adopted resolution 1701 which prohibits Hizballah from operating south of the Litani river.
Israeli Intelligence show that Hizballah bypasses this restriction by cooperating closely with the LAF in the form of joint vehicle patrols, and the LAF has even gone so far as giving Hizballah official uniforms. In a 2016 military parade, Hizballah even displayed U.S.-made armored personnel carriers, presumably taken from the LAF.

Hizballah has also increased its political power in Lebanon in the past two years. In the 2018 elections Hizballah has managed to increase their representation in the parliament, and in the forming of the new government in 2019 Hizballah was given two ministerial portfolios including the prestige Health Ministry.

Given the close link between the terrorist organization and the LAF, and Hizballah’s growing political influence, Hizballah and the Lebanese state, in fact, are no longer two separate entities. There is a serious concern that Hizballah has easy access to the U.S. military assistance given to the LAF. Continuing to provide this assistance seems to contravene U.S. law by funding a terrorist organization. U.S. allies in the Middle East, the Arab Gulf states, have already
declared in February 2020 that they postpone any aid to Lebanon as long as Lebanon continues to cooperate with the terrorist organization.

The Congressional letter asks Secretary Pompeo to follow those steps by conducting an investigation and freezing any military aid to the LAF until it is certain, beyond any doubt, that our financial military assistance is not being used to fund a designated terrorist organization.

Says Sarah Stern, EMET Founder and President, “Iran, through its proxy Hizballah, is on the march throughout the Middle East, and is experiencing a growing sense of triumphalism. Their presence is seen and felt in Baghdad and Damascus, but nowhere is it more profoundly felt than in Lebanon, which has become almost a puppet state of Iran. Hizbollah now boasts an arsenal of approximately 150,000 missiles staring down at Israel, from Southern Lebanon, and it has far too cozy a relationship with the Lebanese Armed Forces, which is known to share its uniforms with, and to go on patrols with Hizballah. As Ambassador Ron Dermer of Israel recently said to me, “I can point to any house in Southern Lebanon, and the owners could say, ‘Here is my bedroom; here is my kitchen; here is my rocket room.” It contravenes United States law to have any American funding going into the hands of a terrorist organization, which Hizballah is, according to the United States State Department. Our taxpayer funding to the Lebanese Armed Forces has got to cease immediately, until we can determine, beyond a shadow of a doubt, whether, directly or indirectly, any of these funds are making their way tint the hands of Hizballah.”

More updates on Virginia reopening, local elections, and parole

By Senator Mark Obenshain

Last week, the Governor unveiled his partial plan for reopening Virginia as we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially Northam’s Health Commissioner was quoted as saying that the first phase of this plan would last two years with measures such as continued use of face coverings, teleworking and only some businesses reopening.

I wanted to see what Virginians’ opinions were of that so I ran a poll on my Facebook page asking people to react to the claim that we would be in phase one for potentially two years. In 48 hours, over 5,700 people responded with 95% saying they thought two years was too long.

Apparently, the Governor's office received feedback. Since then, they walked back their two-year projection and have announced that as of today, the ban on non-emergency/elective medical procedures will be lifted.

Earlier this week, I along with the rest of the Republican Senate Caucus leadership team sent a letter to Governor Northam demanding further answers and clarity on his plan to reopen Virginia. You can read that HERE. Stay tuned on if he responds and what his answer will be.

Election Update
I’ve sent emails in the past regarding the Governor’s attempts to completely circumvent local autonomy by moving all May local elections to line up with Presidential, U.S. Senate and Congressional elections in November. Thankfully, in last week’s reconvened session, the Senate defeated that measure on a strong bipartisan vote.

Integrity of local elections saved.

The Governor has since used his executive authority to move the date of the elections back to weeks from May 5 to May 19 and those with health concerns can safely cast absentee ballots.

Parole
A few weeks ago, I wrote on Facebook about the Virginia Parole Board’s decision to release Vincent Martin, a convicted murderer who killed a Richmond police officer in 1979. You can read the article covering the Parole Board’s decision by clicking HERE.

I wish I could say that this was the only decision by the Virginia Parole Board in recent weeks that caught my eye. Sadly, this is not the case.

In 2012, Debra Scribner was convicted of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a murder in connection with the shooting death of her son-in-law in Halifax County. She had barely served a third of her sentence and the parole board did not even follow proper procedures in coming to the decision to release her. Read more coverage of the Scribner release by clicking HERE.

Thirdly, it was recently reported that Tyson Xavier Golden was granted release in January with certification coming March 30. He was one of three men charged after a string of violent home invasions in Roanoke that culminated in the beating to death of 91-year-old Larry White. Three blows from the butt of a pistol fractured White’s skull. Read more about that case by clicking HERE.

Finally, there is inmate Robert Clark who is serving multiple life sentences for capital murder, robbery and two counts of use of a firearm from a 1994 conviction in Halifax County.  The Parole Board granted him parole on April 10 and his release back into the community is scheduled for May 4.

There was reporting in three of the aforementioned instances of the Parole Board not following proper procedures in notifying the Commonwealth’s Attorney in the county or city in which the crime occurred (required by VA Code section 53.1-136).

Further, the Governor is reportedly now trying to give people the impression that the only prisoners being released these days are nonviolent offenders. That could not be farther from the truth. The Governor proposed language purportedly aimed at reducing prison populations to address the COVID-19 crisis. That language,  granted authority to the Department of Corrections to immediately release to any prisoner with less than one year remaining on his sentence prisoners, except those convicted of a class 1 felony or a sexually violent offense, .  The only class 1 felony in Virginia is capital murder. On a party line vote in the Senate, Democrats approved this language amendment. That means that people convicted of first degree or second-degree murder, armed robbery, drug distribution and malicious wounding, among many others are immediately eligible for release.

The policy implications of the Governor’s budget amendments coupled with the decisions by his parole board to release dangerous murderers back onto Virginia’s streets is appalling. I will be doing everything in my power to prevent the parole or early release of violent and dangerous felons.

Since the abolition of Virginia’s liberal and lenient system of parole in the 1990s, communities across Virginia have been safer. When juries have given a convicted murderer a life sentence, they have done so with confidence that life means life. We can’t return to that old and broken system.

African American Pastors Group Calls on Dems to Cease Bigotry Against Conservative Blacks

Fulshear, TX — April 28, 2020 —

Today, Rev. William Owens, President and Founder of the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP), exposed recent discoveries of corruption within a few states where Democratic Executive Committees are secretly expunging elected officials from the ballot. In particular, the Committees are targeting more conservative members who do not toe the party line. According to Rev. Owens, the Party's actions should be a warning to blacks, who should recognize the actions as a threat unleashed against voters and politicians who disagree with their destructive practices.
Rev. Owens cited the recent example of Rep. John DeBerry of Memphis, Tennessee, a Democrat who is the latest victim of the party leader’s tyranny. DeBerry has a stellar legislative record, but has found himself on the chopping block of the Tennessee Democratic Executive Committee. Despite overwhelming support among voters, DeBerry's chances for reelection have been sabotaged by the state committee.
Black leaders in multiple states are enraged by blatant deception from Democratic Party heads, who have resorted to bullying politicians that do not support controversial policies like public funding for abortion and same-sex marriage. Those leaders say that hardliners are attempting to force them out of the party.
Georgia Representative Vernon Jones is another Democrat who faced a barrage of criticism from his  colleagues after announcing he will vote for Donald Trump in the fall. His decision provoked a fierce attack against his character and a demand for his resignation. Though Jones resigned in response to the pressure, he later rescinded his resignation after an outpouring of support encouraged him to stay in office. CAAP was among the leading religious and social organizations that urged Jones to keep his seat.
Rev. Owens stated that he is not surprised to see the Party turn against moderate and conservative black Democrats. In his latest book, A Dream Derailed,  Rev. Owens explores the historically tense relationship between African Americans and the Democratic Party, dating all the way back to the days of Lyndon B. Johnson and policies that helped destroy the black family. More recently, Rev. Owens experienced a similar attack during an antagonistic exchange with CNN lead anchor Don Lemon, who viciously ambushed the Civil Rights advocate because of Owens' religious beliefs.
"When you see how black Christians are treated by the mainstream of the Democratic Party, you wonder how they can claim to have any understanding of the African American experience," stated Rev. Owens. "The Left has truly hijacked the Democratic Party, and they have turned it into a tool of bigotry. There is no room for diversity of thought, belief, or faith for these ideologues, and they are pushing black Christians out of the Party as fast as they can."
"Black voters and politicians have been loyal to the Democratic Party for decades," Rev. Owens continued. "Now we see how little that loyalty is worth. If they hope to keep the black vote, the Democratic Party needs to take a hard look at their actions and their values. More importantly, they need to cease their bigoted efforts to expel moderate and conservative black Democrats and return to a more open and tolerant platform."
Rev. Owens announced that CAAP is already planning an online town hall that will bring these issues to the attention of a new generation of voters.
Rev. Dean Nelson, Chairman of the Douglass Leadership Institute, agreed with Rev. Owens about the need to stand up to this problematic trend: "The Democrat Party cannot continue to bully African American people to submit to their liberal agenda. Blacks represent the most conservative segment of the democrat party and we have remained the most loyal. That has to change."
