A Glimpse Of The Future

Everyone has been talking about Obama's economic disaster of the last four years. The real question is what will the next four years be like. In recent days we have gotten a glimpse of the future if Obama is reelected.

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Business Roundtable survey of CEOs found that just 29% of corporate executives expect their companies will hire additional workers in the next six months. But 34% expect they will have to lay off workers. According to Reuters, "U.S. chief executives' view of the economy … is now as bleak as it was in the immediate aftermath of the last recession." 

Today, the durable goods report came out. This is a key measurement of manufacturing production that includes big ticket items meant to last for years like aircraft and home appliances. Last month, orders for durable goods dropped a staggering 13.2%. That is the worst one-month decrease in four years.

And there was even more bad news today. Economic growth in the second quarter of this year, initially reported at a weak rate of 1.7%, was revised downward to an anemic 1.3%.

America can't afford four more years of Barack Obama's failed economic policies! 

DC Lobbyist John Douglass Caught In A Lie With His Own Words

Washington DC lobbyist and insider John Douglass called allegations that he lobbied to sell sensitive satellite technology to the Chinese a “bold-faced lie.”  Unfortunately for Mr. Douglass, his past is on the record and well documented.  As you can see from press releases by the DC lobbying firm he ran, news articles, and in his own words during testimony to Congress – he is simply not telling the truth.  As a lobbyist, Douglass advocated for selling sensitive satellite technology to the Chinese and used his position as head of a special interest group to lobby Congress to oppose “Buy American” provisions for our armed forces.

Here are the real facts on DC insider John Douglass’ record as a lobbyist:

o   John Douglass was the head of a top lobbying organization, Aerospace Industries Association, which represents dozens of corporate clients. 

·         Selling Satellites to China

o   In 1999, Congress made it illegal to sell satellites to China to protect National Security

·         Amid mounting allegations that launches of U.S. commercial satellites in China have aided that country's missile program, Congress this fall tightened government controls on satellite exports. And a Pentagon study completed on Dec. 7 concluded that in 1995, Hughes Electronics Corp.—without appropriate government approval--provided Chinese scientists with valuable information critical to both commercial satellite and ballistic-missile-launch technologies. – National Journal December 12, 1998

Email of the Day: Obama speaks without teleprompter

This Obama short speech was delivered spontaneously and without the aid of his ubiquitous teleprompter, apparently while vacationing at Camp David .

Delivered outdoors, it was apparently taped by an alert news person with a handy video camera. The sound is rather good considering the outdoor conditions and the apparent spontaneity of the event.

Listen carefully to his words. Credit where credit is due, he actually makes more sense than anything he has said in over three years as President and two years prior to that while on the campaign trail.

Is Islam a “religion of peace”?

On 9/11/12, the U.S.  Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans were assassinated in a brutal attack on the U.S. consulate in the city of Benghazi by terrorists armed with automatic rifles and rocket-propelled grenades.

Since 9/11/01, Islamic Jihadists have carried out more than 19,479 deadly terror attacks worldwide — an average of more than 1,770 unprovoked acts of violence each year!

Yet despite these continued acts of terror, our own government leaders have become some of the highest profile defenders of Islam in America today; rather than defending our nation, they speak of Islam as a religion of moderation and peace!

RNC Message Commemorating Yom Kippur

Media Ignores Bikers for Unborn Ride

On Saturday, nearly 100 bikers from around Virginia rode through Richmond and Capitol Square in the first annual Ride for the Unborn, but you wouldn’t know about it from the complete inattention of the Richmond media.

The bikers rallied at the Richmond Outreach Center in Midlothian before forming a line of bikes and riding through Capitol Square.  At the ROC, the riders heard from Kim Warburton, Executive Director of the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond, Pastor Michael Hirsch of Calvary Christian Church in Fredericksburg, and me.

This was a first of its kind event for The Family Foundation, but we are thrilled with the turnout.  The message to Virginia is that the pro-life community is diverse, committed, and making a statement that we are indeed the majority.  Many of the riders encouraged us to do this again next year.  It is very clear that the pro-life community in Virginia is energized and tired of seeing only pro-abortion protesters in the news.  

 

That message, however, doesn’t fit the Richmond media’s liberal driven “war on women” narrative, making it easy for them to ignore nearly 100 pro-life Virginians rallying when they will cover a handful of NARAL protesters standing in front of the Attorney General’s Office.  On a beautiful Saturday in Central Virginia, with no major car accidents or fires to distract them, the media, including NBC Channel 12, which is located about 100 yards from the Ride for the Unborn’s rallying point at the Richmond Outreach Center, simply chose to not let Virginians know.  

 

That’s where you come in.  Please forward this to your friends, colleagues and fellow church goers.  Let them be encouraged that pro-life Virginia is stirring.  Just over a week ago, hundreds of pro-lifers came out to the Board of Health meeting, and in a unique display of our diversity, we had a very successful ride on Saturday. 

 

As I told the crowd of bikers Saturday, the pro-abortion movement in Virginia is becoming more militant, more aggressive, more vulgar, and while we must meet their anger with love, we cannot back down.  And we will not back down.

Because Saturday’s ride was so successful, The Family Foundation plans to make this Ride for the Unborn an annual event.
