Vets Combatting Unemployment

"One of the truly heartbreaking aspects of the Obama economy is the difficulty so many returning veterans have in finding employment. While the national unemployment rate is 8.2%, it is nearly 13% for returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars has made reducing this startling statistic a top priority by sponsoring a company called VetJobs. VetJobs just announced that it is working to help our veterans fill thousands of jobs building the Keystone XL pipeline. But there's a catch. These jobs are on the Canadian side of the border.

Thanks to Obama, there are no Keystone pipeline jobs in this country. In fact, VetJobs had corporate commitments to hire 8,000 veterans for the Keystone pipeline project in America until the Obama Administration rejected it. A recent Rasmussen poll found that 60% of likely voters support the Keystone pipeline, but Barack Obama is siding with the 22% who oppose it.

Thankfully for our vets, the VWF and VetJobs have been able to salvage something of their efforts. But this is just one more example of how Barack Obama's left-wing ideology is hurting America and costing jobs."
