We have much to pray about. We have much to be thankful for.
According to the most recent census, our nation has a population of over 308 million people. When tragedy strikes we are all hurt and saddened. Such was the case coming out of Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, January 8th, 2011.
Let us pray:
Our Heavenly Father, we pray for the souls of those six people who lost their lives in the Tucson Tragedy. Let us remember each of them by call out their names:
- Federal Judge John Roll
- Gabriel M. Zimmerman, 30 year old congressional aide
- Christina Taylor Green, 9 year old third grader
- Dorothy Morris, 76 retired with her husband George, who was shot twice while trying to shield her
- Dorwan Stoddard, 76. Mr. Stoddard died while trying to protect his wife, Mavy
- Phyllis Schneck, 79. She lost her husband Ernest in 2007.
We pray for the families of these six victims and that they will find peace and comfort in God's love.
We pray for the 13 injured people, some of whom were severely wounded, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. We pray our Heavenly Father that you will grant Mrs. Giffords and the remaining twelve complete recoveries.
We pray for the safety of our service men and women around the world.
We pray in the name of the God of Abraham and our lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
