Quote of the Day
"Dangerous levels of debt have our great country teetering towards bankruptcy. Even facing an impending Government shut-down couldn't shake Washington liberals from grasping onto and defending the status quo that has made trillion dollar deficits the norm. And only in Washington would you pat yourself on the back for finishing a job six months late.
Common sense is in short supply in Washington so it's up to We The People to take back control of America's destiny. The fight to put our country back on the road to prosperity has not ended now that last year's budget was finally passed. No, in fact the fight has just begun. To begin fixing Washington we need real solutions like a balanced budget amendment, presidential line item veto and a "paycheck penalty" that would withhold Members of Congress' salaries if they don't pass the budget on time. I can guarantee you that if Congress had not received a pay check since October 1st we would not be in this mess.
Our country - and our children - cannot afford Washington's unsustainable spending. We The People need real leaders, fighting for real reforms. And these past few years have proven that in the U.S. Senate every single vote counts. I'm running because Virginia families and our future are being ignored in Washington. If given the opportunity to fight for Virginians I vow to use all my energy and what I've learned to bring your values to the U.S. Senate. I want to be the deciding vote to pass crucial reforms that will finally enforce fiscal restraint and finally balance our budget. Our race in Virginia is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal contests in the country that will very likely determine control of the U.S. Senate and the direction of our country."
