Quote of the Day

Emperor Obama's New DISCLOSE

"Remember when you learned in school how there are three branches of government? We were taught that they are the Executive, Legislative and Judicial. Established by the U.S. Constitution, each branch performs separate functions and is supposed to check the other branch's functions in different ways.

This basic lesson in government is one that the current Administration seems to consistently forget or ignore. Since assuming the mantle of the presidency, Barack Obama has sought to overrun the other two branches when it comes to issues like defending marriage, pushing heavy-handed environmental regulations, regulating the Internet and providing special protections (outside of the Constitution) for homosexuals.

The President's latest proposed Executive Order (EO) furthers this attack on democracy by trying to implement portions of the campaign finance "reform" bill, the DISCLOSE Act, which failed in the last Congress due to concerns over its constitutionality by Republicans and some Democrats. Never one to be tied down by the Constitution, Obama's EO would force government contractors -- including their boards, officers or any affiliates -- to disclose all their contributions and expenditures."

The reasoning behind the President's newest assault on free speech becomes apparent when you realize that entities which spend millions on his behalf, such as unions and Planned Parenthood, would be exempt. Apparently you can take the President out of Chicago, but you can't take the Chicago-style politics out of the President.
