“On Sunday we learned that U.S. military forces were involved in an operation that resulted in the death of Osama Bin Laden. At the time, I noted that many Virginians were directly affected by the devastating attacks at the Pentagon on September 11th and the previous bombing of the USS Cole homeported in Norfolk. While we are always proud of our men and women in uniform and those who support them, with this action we have been given another chance to recognize the professionalism and excellence they display each and every day.
That justice was reportedly delivered by members of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group, sometimes called SEAL Team Six, based in Virginia was especially gratifying. Today I join my fellow Virginians in wishing all of the men and women responsible for the success of this mission the very best. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.”
