Come out and Oppose the StartUp Act 2.0

Senator Warner has continued to publicly support legislation that will seriously hurt the American STEM worker. Sen. Warner will be hosting Office Hours throughout the next few weeks where you will have the opportunity to tell him that his immigration policies are taking away jobs from Americans.
Tell Sen. Warners staff that you oppose the StartUp Act 2.0, a bill that would create 50,000 new visas for foreign-born students in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields and 75,000 visas for immigrant entrepreneurs.
Supporters of the bill (big business owners and politicians) tell us that we need more foreign STEM workers because we dont have enough in the US today to compete with the world.
However, the truth is
-- 1.8 million Americans have engineering degrees but do not have an engineering job.
-- 101,000 American engineers are looking for a job and cannot find work at all.
-- Only about one third of native STEM professionals are currently employed in jobs closely related to their degrees.
-- Some two thirds of STEM workers are employed or are training for jobs in unrelated fields.
-- It is in the big businesses best interest to DECREASE wages by INCREASING the number of foreign workers who they can pay less than American STEM graduates.
Read about the study that proves we have no American-born STEM worker shortage. We talked extensively about the flaws of the bill in our webcast a few weeks ago including the creation of diploma mills and the influence of the billionaires club on immigration policy. Read my blog post here.
