OFFICIAL CALL
Mass Meeting of the Madison County Republican Committee (MCRC) of the Republican Party of Virginia
Pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I William E Harvill Jr do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Administration Building Auditorium, Main Street, Madison, Virginia or an alternate site if necessary starting promptly at 11:00 AM those in line will be allowed to participate (doors will open at 10:00 AM local time) on Saturday February 17 2018 for the following purposes:
· Electing: (1) Unit Chairman (2) Unit Vice Chairman (3) Unit Treasurer and (4) Unit Secretary.
· Electing members and reconstituting the MCRC.
· Electing up to 150 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the 5th Congressional District Convention to be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Tree of Life Ministries 2812 Greenview Drive Lynchburg Virginia or an alternate site, if necessary for the following purposes:
· Election of District Chairman
· Election of Candidate for 2018 Congressional Election
· Transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of Madison County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex who are in accord with the principals of the Republican Party and who, if required, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its Mass Meetings, Party Canvasses, Conventions or Primaries encompassing their respective Election Districts.
MCRC Membership
2018 Membership Forms have been mailed to 2017 members. Applications for membership to the 2018 MCRC will be available at the Mass Meeting. The applications shall be filled out with the $20.00 fee and turned in to the Nominations Committee prior to 11:00 AM. Applications turned in after 11:00 AM will be accepted and deferred to the next meeting of the MCRC for action. Membership shall be recommended by the Nominations Committee for voting by the attendees who meet the qualifications set forth above.
Pre-Filing requirements
Candidates for the election of Unit Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, and Delegate or Alternate Delegate at said Mass Meeting shall pre-file a written statement of their intent. The pre-file forms are available at Eddins Insurance 115 S Main Street, Madison Virginia and on line at www.rpv.org.
All pre-file forms shall be hand delivered to Eddins Insurance 115 S Main Street, Madison Virginia not later than 12:00 noon Friday February 9 2018. There shall be no nominations for Unit Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer or Delegate elections from the floor of the Mass Meeting, all must have pre-filed.
The following, in addition to the pre-file requirements shall pay a non-refundable filing fee payable to the MCRC:
Candidate for Unit Chairman: $100.00.
Registration Fee
There will be no registration fee to participate in this Mass Meeting. However a voluntary fee of $10.00 is requested from each of the participants. The voluntary fees will be used to pay for the expenses of the MCRC publishing the notice of this call.
