The first big winter storm of 2025 will be impacting much of the Commonwealth starting later today and into Monday. Governor Youngkin issued a state of emergency late last week ahead of the storm and is encouraging citizens to take the proper precautions.
Here in the Shenandoah Valley, we are expected to get snow accumulation with some areas getting sleet and ice. If you must travel and be on the roads, please use caution.
With any winter weather event, there is a chance for power outages and downed power lines are possible. Remember to never approach downed power lines or try to clear debris from them. Report outages or downed lines to your local electric service provider.
