Quotes of the Day

“It remains to be seen how Obama's anti-energy bureaucrats will put these new plans into practice. Remember, we have an energy secretary who once stated his desire for $8.00-a-gallon gas, and an interior secretary who once filibustered attempts to allow more drilling even if gas prices skyrocketed to $10-a-gallon.”

“The policies supported by the President in his speech would damage our immigration system beyond repair. But perhaps his most brazen statements were those which demeaned our border security, and the people who are concerned with national security.”

“Together let’s send this President a message. It’s easy; just take a picture of the pump the next time you fill up. Then, upload those pictures to your favorite social media site. If it’s Facebook tag Barack Obama in the picture. If it’s Twitter mention @BarackObama in your tweet and include the hashtag #Obamanomics.”

Reince Priebus

“Our country was founded on one enduring principle. The principle that freedom comes from God and that men must be the guardians of it.”

CAPS New TV Ads Call For Slowing Legal Immigration Until Californians Are Working Again

The ads point out that with millions of Americans out of work, we need to slow legal immigration and bringing in temporary foreign workers. Recent studies have demonstrated that new immigrants are taking American jobs as Americans are losing them.

The ads are launching as the federal government continues to admit more than 1 million immigrants and temporary workers a year to take American jobs despite the country’s highest unemployment levels since the Great Depression.

Quote of the Day

"It is an insult to patriotic Hispanics to assume that they support amnesty. Forty-seven percent of Hispanics voted for Arizona’s Proposition 200, which cut off welfare for illegal aliens and required identification at the polls. This is a much higher percentage than the Hispanics who voted for pro-amnesty Republicans like George Bush and John McCain."

Push Back Dingy Harry

From FAIR

Senator Reid Declares He Will Push DREAM Act
Call Your Senators and Tell Them to Vote NO!

In a press conference in the Capitol this afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced that he will offer the DREAM Act amnesty bill (S.729) as an amendment to the Department of Defense Authorization Bill. Action on this bill is expected as early as next week! (To see the video of Senator Reid’s press conference, click here.)

Like previous versions of the DREAM Act, S.729 will grant amnesty to illegal aliens who entered the U.S. as minors and meet certain educational requirements or serve in the military. In particular, the bill grants immediate legal status to illegal aliens who have merely enrolled in an institution of higher education or have received a high school diploma. And, while S.729 conditions the ultimate granting of legal permanent residence status upon finishing two years at an institution of higher learning or two years in the military, the bill allows Homeland Security, “in the Secretary’s discretion,” to waive these requirements in their entirety upon the showing of hardship.

In the press conference, Reid described the beneficiaries of this bill as “kids” and “boys and girls,” but S.729 allows illegal aliens up to the age of 35 to be eligible to receive amnesty and qualify for federal student loans. Moreover, S.729 also allows states to provide in-state tuition to illegal aliens—at a time when many Americans can’t afford to send their own students to college. Finally, as a result of S.729, those who receive amnesty may petition for their relatives to be admitted to the U.S. as soon as they reach the age of 21. (To read FAIR’s summary of the DREAM Act, click here.)

We need your help!!! Call your Senators NOW and tell them to vote NO on the DREAM Act! Tell them:

  • You want immigration ENFORCEMENT, not another amnesty;
  • Amnesty legislation rewards those who broke U.S. immigration laws and only encourages more illegal immigration;
  • The DREAM Act unfairly allows illegal alien students to tap federal and state benefits, when those benefits are desperately needed by Americans who are struggling every day to make ends meet.

Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Jerry Kammer and the Center for Immigration Studies have a new video that shows just a few of the issues facing the border patrol in Southern Arizona.

"Gaming the Border: A Report from Cochise County" is a 10-minute report that exposes the weaknesses of the federal government's efforts to secure the Tucson Sector. The report also goes into the political motivation of the DHS strategy to "secure" the border and features an interview with an illegal alien holding multiple jobs with fast food chains in Maryland who successfully made his way, undetected, across the border in Arizona.

Quote of the Day

“The way the federal government fails in the immigration arena is by doing nothing. They own the responsibility for determining who is illegal and for deporting. They are the bottleneck for deportation and if they didn’t like what Arizona was doing, they had it in their power to simply do what they have been doing for decades, and that’s drag their feet."

Quote of the Day

"Demand answers to the questions that the liberal media aren’t asking. What does your representative have to say about the Federal Government suing the state of Arizona for trying to enforce immigration laws? How does he or she feel about the people of Missouri voting to overturn a key provision of Obamacare?"

Quote of the Day

"The Washington metro area is buzzing with anger about a tragic incident that explains why so many people are so upset about America’s “amnesty-light” immigration policy. A nun was killed and two others were seriously injured this weekend when they were hit by a drunk driver. It turns out that the drunk driver, Carlos Montano, has had two other DUIs and is an illegal alien who had used numerous aliases and at least two Social Security numbers. Prior to this weekend’s fatal crash, police reported Montano to federal officials, who released him on his own recognizance while his deportation paperwork was being processed.

I’m not suggesting that the average illegal alien is an alcoholic who may kill nuns. But the entire debate has been framed by the Left, the president, the liberal media and even some Christian leaders as a question of compassion. But the compassion in their narrative extends only to the person who illegally enters the United States.

None of the liberals in this debate are extending compassion to the victims of crime committed by illegals. (According to government records, 17% of illegal aliens detained in Arizona had prior criminal records.) I see no compassion for struggling taxpayers burdened by the costs of illegal immigration. I see little compassion for unemployed construction workers and minorities who have been losing jobs to illegal aliens.

I am not surprised when the political Left extends compassion to everyone but “Average Joes.” But it deeply disturbs me when Christian leaders appear to extend their compassion only one way. I’ve had a number of them tell me, “Jesus loves illegal aliens too, Gary.” I’m sure he does. But I also know he loves the construction worker, the taxpayer and the nun too! The love of Jesus does not end the debate. It should help us balance the debate, as everyone should be treated with compassion, including the American people."

Quote of the Day

"I wanted to share a recent article discussing an agency memo to the Director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.), Alejandro Mayorkas. The memo suggests that in-depth discussions have taken place at high levels on how to keep millions of illegal immigrants in the country. Although a spokesman for U.S.C.I.S. has tried to suggest that discussions are not tantamount to policy endorsements, I believe that there is no room for discussion on the question of amnesty. The answer is simply ‘no.’ You can read the article by clicking here."

Quote of the Day

"So, we’ve got a cartel using Hezbollah sophistication to murder Mexican police. In Juarez. Google map it. You can spit into Juarez from El Paso and it’s on the Arizona border. That would be the area that the US government says you should stay out of because of armed drug gangs. That would be the border with no fence. No physical security.

Gee, I wonder where the drugs the cartel sells are going? Couldn’t possibly be into Texas and Arizona could it? Yeah, I didn’t think so either. After all, the only people who cross our southern border are those hard working family types looking to make a better life for their children. Except why did the administration that Ms. Napolitano flacks for put up signs in our desert – thirty miles from Phoenix – warning that we should stay out?

I can’t wait for the cartel to set one off in El Paso or Tucson or Phoenix. It will of course be George Bush’s fault."

Quote of the Day

"...An official for the Justice Department confirmed this week that sanctuary cities, so named because they explicitly violate federal immigration law, won’t be sued.

A spokeswoman for Attorney General Eric Holder told the Washington Times, “There is a big difference between a state or locality saying they are not going to use their resources to enforce a federal law, as so-called sanctuary cities have done, and a state passing its own immigration policy that actively interferes with federal law.”

This logic is backwards. It is the sanctuary cities that are interferring with federal law, while Arizona is trying to help the federal government enforce its own laws!

Thankfully, Senators Jim DeMint (R-SC) and David Vitter (R-LA) are proposing an amendment that would deny funding to the Justice Department for any federal lawsuit against the Arizona law. Their amendment may get a vote next week. It will be interesting to see how many senators side with the overwhelming majority of the American people and vote to end this nonsense."

Quote of the Day

"Perhaps the most frightening -- and shocking -- part of Atty. Gen. Holder's lawsuit against Arizona's new immigration enforcement law is his indication that it is a waste of federal resources to pick up illegal aliens simply because they are unlawfully taking a job from a U.S. worker.

Most Americans look at the terrible unemployment situation and assume that it would be a good thing for their federal government to be removing illegal aliens from their jobs in order to put unemployed Americans back to work."

"It makes no sense to deny the link between immigration enforcement and national security. If we want to prevent attacks, we need to keep terrorists from getting visas and stop them from coming to the U.S. and obtaining citizenship. That means enforcing our immigration laws, not ignoring them!"

'There was nothing new in the President's [immigration] speech. He stuck with the same old talking points, including securing the border, cracking down on employers, and providing an amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens living in the United States.

What the President failed to consider, first and foremost, is how a mass amnesty will impact the 25 million Americans looking for full-time work."

Quote of the Day

"There's a really interesting new poll out today - from CNN no less - which shows OVERWHELMING opposition by the American people to any attempted boycotts against Arizona as a result of its new immigration enforcement law. Further, it shows the country moving away from Obama and the Democrats on this issue at a pretty rapid clip."

From the poll:

A full 82% of Americans are opposed to boycotts against Arizona -
57% saying that they support the law.

60% of the public favor immigration reform that focuses on enforcing the law and the border, (instead of the "comprehensive, let's find a way to let them stay and be legal" reform).
54% say that they support building the border fence.
Support for more fines on businesses that hire illegals has risen to
71% (from 58% four years ago)...
