May 14th: Celebration of the Family

Event Alert:  A Celebration of the Family in Harrisonburg

Our grassroots chapter, the Valley Family Forum, will be hosting its 10th anniversary “Celebration of the Family” dinner at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, at the JMU Festival Conference and Student Center in Harrisonburg.

The Valley Family Forum has made a tremendous impact on the cultural landscape of the Valley, encouraging and supporting pro-family efforts for over a decade.

The keynote speaker for the Celebration will be Tom Minnery, executive director of CitizenLink, an affiliate of Focus on the Family.  Tom has led the Government and Public Policy division since 1988, serving as a steady voice articulating the conservative Christian viewpoint on family, marriage and religious civil liberties issues. In addition, he also oversees Focus’s network of 38 Family Policy Councils across America – of which The Family Foundation is one.

However, Minnery is best known to many of us as the author of Why You Can’t Stay Silent: A Biblical Mandate to Shape Our Culture.  This is an exceptional book which the Valley Family Forum uses for its Capstone seminars that have attracted over 200 Valley participants.

Seating is still available for both table and individual reservations. However, please confirm right away by calling (540) 438-8966 or by email at family@valleyfamilyforum.org. Single seats are $25/person or $200 for a table of eight.  Business and individual sponsorships are also available at varying levels.  Call for more details.
