Hard-hearted Billary and 'Bama withhold help from innocent babies in the womb

"Barack Obama (D-Ill.) joined Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and 50 other U.S. senators in killing an amendment that would have offered financial support to disadvantaged moms-to-be and their unborn babies through SCHIP (State Child Health Insurance Program). Sen. Wayne Allard (R-Colo.) has long recognized the need to include these children in coverage plans, in hopes that fewer women would abort their babies for economic reasons. He fought admirably to codify the regulations that would have given states that option. Despite help from Democrats like Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.) and Ben Nelson (Nebr.), the amendment couldn't overcome the opposition within the GOP from defecting Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Olympia Snowe (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), and Arlen Specter (Pa.) and failed 52-46."

Note: Republican John McCain supported the Allard amendment. He also opposes abortion and has called for Roe vs. Wade to be reversed.
