The institution of marriage has taken some high profile hits in the past few days. Professor Jonathan Turley, who supports homosexual “marriage,” suggested that we are “on a slippery slope that inevitably takes us to the point where we punish religious groups because of their religious views.” Last summer, National Public Radio addressed the same issue. It also concluded, “the religious groups are losing.”

Here’s just one example of how this debate will impact your values and your children.

"This Friday, April 17th, has been chosen by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network as the “National Day of Silence,” when students are urged to show their support for the homosexual movement in the public schools. Believe it or not, there is a resolution pending in the House of Representatives supporting this effort. In addition, the resolution asks President Obama to issue a proclamation “calling on the people of the United States to observe the National Day of Silence with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities.” Prayers are prohibited in our public schools, but by co-sponsoring this resolution, at least three dozen members of Congress have shown they believe the homosexual lifestyle should be promoted in the public schools. Minnesota continues to make the news with stories of suspected Somali-born Islamic terrorists coming out of the state; Muslims winning a legal battle against a meat processing facility that refused to knuckle under to their demands; a publicly-funded charter school being sued by the ACLU on the grounds it impermissibly promotes Islam; Muslim cab drivers refusing to pick up passengers who carry alcohol; a community college where the interfaith chapel was taken over by Muslim students and turned into a de facto mosque – and now this story below.

Meanwhile, Minnesota has dived into the world of shariah law through its state-sponsored program of home mortgage products that are shariah-compliant.

Is there a coincidence between Minnesota’s efforts to accommodate its Muslim immigrant population and the degree of radicalism that is bubbling up in the state? FBI raids 3 Minneapolis money-transfer shops

Federal agents raided three Minneapolis money transfer businesses that mainly serve the Somali community Wednesday, seeking records of financial transactions to several African and Middle East countries.

E.K. Wilson, a special agent for the FBI in Minneapolis, confirmed that agents searched the businesses on the city's south side to track money transactions, but wouldn't disclose any further details.

The businesses are Qaran Express and Aaran Financial, both in the Karmel Mall, near W. Lake Street and Pillsbury Avenue S., and North American Money Transfer Inc., also known as Mustaqbal Express, at the Village Market Mall, at E. 24th Street and Chicago Avenue S.

While it's not clear that the raid was directly connected to a continuing federal investigation into the possible link between terrorist groups and the disappearances of seven to 20 young Somali men in the Twin Cities over the past two years, it appears to be part of an effort since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to crack down on financial connections to terrorist networks and operations overseas.

Two months after the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, federal agents froze the assets of five Somali-related operations at three locations in Minneapolis because of suspicions that they were laundering money to Osama bin Laden or his terrorist organization Al-Qaida. In the end, none was the subject of federal criminal indictments.

Somali residents had bemoaned the shutdowns, saying that the businesses were their only way of getting money to impoverished relatives in Somalia.

"We've been through this before," said Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in St. Paul. "What happened today is the beginning of a long story, so we don't want the community to panic."

"I’m having a really great day! I, your loyal servant, just discovered that I have managed to anger a Saudi newspaper, a group of anti-religious bigots and MSNBC’s leftwing ranter Keith Olbermann. Hey, I must be doing something right!

The Saudi newspaper attacked me because I have been critical of Obama’s outrageous bow to King Adbullah. Apparently, jihadists all over the Middle East are not happy with me. As you may know, the White House is now trying to deny that President Obama bowed to Saudi Arabia’s king. But the paper was explaining that Obama understood that “bowing is an expression of affection… And so Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.”

Then, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State rushed to defend President Obama for saying America isn’t a Christian nation. According to the group, Obama’s claim was a direct slam against the rantings of “Newt Gingrich and Gary Bauer.”

Finally, the one I am most proud of, a few days ago MSNBC’s insufferable blabbermouth Keith Olbermann named me a runner-up in his “Worst Person in the World” segment. I lost out narrowly to Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, but I beat out Glenn Beck, who finished third. I promise you I will not rest until I come in first! "

They went with the blessing of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the State Department and presumably the Obama White House. Three members of the Congressional Black Caucus met with the island’s dictator, Fidel Castro, and emerged gushing with praise for the Stalinist relic. Rep. Sadly, our leftists never learn. They are always willing to believe the worst about America and willing to believe the best about our enemies. Fidel Castro is a brutal communist thug. He is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. His jails are full of pro-democracy and religious dissidents. He once gladly accepted Soviet nuclear missiles aimed at American cities, threatening millions of our citizens, including black Americans in those cities, with instant death. But that’s all water under the bridge now. Castro asked his guests, “How can we help President Obama?”

I have a suggestion: Before President Obama moves to ease travel restrictions, let Castro make the first move by granting his people the freedom to visit the United States. The exodus from Castro’s communist “paradise” would speak for itself and shame the America-haters in Congress."
