With the Iowa caucuses just days away, the Republican presidential candidates were back in the state yesterday making their pitches to the voters.
Donald Trump held a town hall event with Fox News in Des Moines last night, just two miles from where Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley were participating in a CNN debate.
Lots of issues were discussed during Trump's town hall, but what really stood out to me was his response to a pro-life Iowa voter.
Trump has come under fire from some who are suggesting that he is abandoning the pro-life cause. I have met with him many times, and he is not abandoning this issue.
And it was striking last night that instead of running away from the overturn of Roe v. Wade, Trump strongly embraced it. He began by talking about a person who thanked him backstage before the town hall event started for being a solid pro-life president who saved so many innocent lives by overturning Roe v. Wade.
Even elected officials with long pro-life records try to avoid talking about the overturn of Roe. Unfortunately, that was not a politically popular decision. That's a fact the pro-life movement has to contend with. But Trump did not run from it.
He also reminded the audience about the left's extremism on this issue. That was never effectively done by previous GOP candidates until Trump rhetorically hung Hillary Clinton's pro-abortion extremism around her neck like an albatross. That exchange stunned her and, I believe, mightily contributed to his victory.
Trump said he supported the three main "exceptions" – life of the mother, rape and incest. That was the same position that Ronald Reagan held, and Reagan was the most pro-life president we ever had until the election of Donald Trump.
But even Reagan blew it with his Supreme Court appointments of Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy. Trump had three Supreme Court appointments, and he got them all right on this issue.
Finally, Trump made it clear that if conservatives impose a purity test that makes the perfect the enemy of the good, and which also allows the left to paint us as extremists, they're not going to win, and will end up with abortion on demand back in the Constitution.
Biden's Priority
Not only was Donald Trump's response on the life issue noteworthy, but so too was a recent comment by Quentin Fulks, Joe Biden's deputy campaign manager.
Fulks appeared on "Meet The Press" this past Sunday and was asked what Joe Biden's top priority would be for his second term. He replied, "First of all, Roe. The president has been adamant that we need to restore [Roe v. Wade]."
There you go. Abortion on demand is the top priority for Biden's second term.

WASHINGTON—The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) has filed a brief with the Supreme Court opposing an emergency application of the Biden Administration to vacate an injunction the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has issued to prevent border patrol from cutting Texas's razor-wire border barriers while that appellate court considers Texas's lawsuit to stop this federal trespass on its property.
The administration claims that the barriers are preempted under the Supremacy Clause because they interfere with border patrol's efforts to let illegal aliens in. IRLI points out, however, that mere executive policies—especially ones, such as these, that violate federal law—have no preemptive force.
IRLI also shows that Texas, as a sovereign state, has the inherent authority to protect its territory in a way congruent with federal law. And the barriers here are not inconsistent with federal law, but rather are an effective means of advancing Congress's purpose, in that law, of stopping illegal immigration.
"Preposterously, the Biden Administration is arguing that, because it refuses to enforce the law, that same law preempts the state's 'interference' with that nonenforcement," said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. "It doesn't work that way. States have a right to defend their borders, and to pursue objectives of Congress—such as stopping illegal immigration—even when the executive branch has subverted them. We hope the Court sees this clearly, and keeps the injunction and the razor wire in place."

George Washington believed that only a virtuous people could remain free. Joe Biden brought transgender activists and drag queens to the White House to celebrate LGBTQ pride.
George Washington routinely thanked God. He and all the founders believed that our victory over the British empire in the Revolutionary War was only possible because of God's blessing.
Joe Biden, his FBI and the entire progressive establishment call that belief "Christian nationalism," and they claim it is a threat to the country. Meanwhile, Biden regularly disses God. He didn't even bother to mention God or Jesus in his Thanksgiving and Christmas messages.
George Washington knew free and fair elections were the key to democracy. The neo-Marxist left is trying to jail a former president and cancel our elections.
George Washington believed the Constitution was the supreme law of the land. The left is at war with the First Amendment, the Second Amendment and every other right we have.
The memories of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Patrick Henry and other founders are being forgotten because they are no longer taught in school. And if they are, their reputations are being smeared and tarnished, while left-wing activists tear down their statues and defile their monuments.
That's why Donald Trump set up the 1776 Commission to ensure that the next generation would respect them as we do. Joe Biden, who is attempting to claim Washington's mantle, immediately abolished the 1776 Commission when he took office.
For generations, the most famous childhood story about George Washington was telling his father that he could not tell a lie. Joe Biden, well known for his past plagiarism, lies all the time about virtually everything.
In every way, Joe Biden is the exact opposite of George Washington. He should be ashamed of disgracing Valley Forge with his lies.

Child mutilation under the pretense of transgender "care" is causing and exacerbating physical and mental health issues. Children are being manipulated and coerced into decisions with long-term ramifications by agenda-driven doctors, counselors, teachers, and lawmakers.
Several states have already passed legislation banning puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and transition surgery that interferes with natural healthy growth.
It's time for a national ban protecting children from the life-altering mutilation of sexual transition.
Children are being taken advantage of by supporters of trans ideology into making life-long decisions that mutilate and permanently damage them through hormone therapy and surgery.
Everyone understands children make decisions with
-undeveloped minds,
-immature processing capabilities,
-lack of experiential evidence.
Why allow children to make life-altering, life-long health decisions?
The terrible truth is children are being manipulated by agenda driven adults.
Laws are being made in states across the nation to stop this insanity. Now is the time to support national lawmakers trying to protect our kids and send a loud warning to those who want to harm them.
There is overwhelming evidence that individuals who transitioned as minors regret the decision they made as a child.
Minors who are protected by laws that do not allow them to smoke, drink, get a tattoo, get married, or serve in the military should also be protected by laws preventing them from sexual transition before adulthood.
The defense of the young is the priority of civilized human society. We must protect children from the current sway of agenda-driven adults.
These agenda-driven adults have proven they are going after our children. If we lose this battle, children will be unprotected from sexual mutilation and drug-induced transition, making them dependent on life-long chemical, physical, and psychiatric care.
We need to protect all children from procedures and chemicals that purposefully handicap their natural capabilities to procreate and have normal sexual relationships. If we win, children will be spared the life-altering damage caused by the transition process.
Now is the time to act! Lawmakers are making state and national decisions. If we wait, generations of children will be mutilated.

Not surprisingly, but disturbingly, the World Health Organization (WHO) recently made it clear that it intends to fully embrace the idea that every person has a human right to determine their own gender and receive all medical care and options they need to realize their own "gender identity," irrespective of biological reality.
The WHO announced the formation of a panel that will develop new guidelines for nations to follow when it comes to healthcare for "trans and gender diverse people."
As you might imagine, this panel is stacked with left-wing activists who are all in on the radical trans ideology. (Some even refer to themselves with plural pronouns.) And, of course, there is no one representing those in the scientific community who are challenging this insanity.
As a reminder, American Values, the James Dobson Family Institute, former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, myself and others have warned repeatedly that the Biden Administration is trying to turn over more and more of our healthcare decisions to the WHO and the United Nations.
Their excuse is that we must follow the WHO's direction during the next pandemic emergency. Well, the WHO cannot be trusted. It notoriously caved to communist China time and time again during the COVID pandemic. A representative from North Korea currently sits on the WHO's executive board.
Now, it's jumping into the trans issue. This so-called "health organization" is waging war with cultures, religions and parents all over the world.
And the Biden Administration, liberal politicians and left-wing judges will start citing the WHO as their excuse for passing more insane trans laws that assault and undermine the family and the values of the American people.

WASHINGTON—Does the Biden Administration want there to be more H1-B fraud? That's what its new proposal for the H1-B system suggests, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) demonstrates in its public comment on the administration's proposed rule for the program.
IRLI shows that fraud takes place in the H1-B application process because strong proof of the identity of applicants—such as a photo and passport number—is not required at each step of the application process. Instead, only a name and date of birth must be included on the forms. There is nothing to stop false names from being submitted, such as when, in one example of past fraud, child sex slaves were smuggled into the country from India using the H1-B program. The Biden proposal does nothing to fix this deficiency.
"It is hard to escape the conclusion that the administration doesn't want to crack down on H1-B fraud because it benefits certain business interests," said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. "One would expect an administration, if it were voted in by the people, to craft rules implementing Congress's purpose, clearly manifest in the H1-B statute, to protect American workers. There is little of that in this proposed rule, and we hope the administration strengthens it considerably before issuing a final version."
