Townhall columnist Jonah Goldberg disputes Rev. Wright's oft-repeated assertion that the United States government “purposely infected African-American men with syphilis.”
Goldberg rebuts Wright's lie about the infamous 1932 Tuskegee study with some historical facts:
- The men were recruited because they already had non-contagious stage syphilis
- In 1932 there was no cure for syphilis
It's true that the men were lied to, and left untreated when a treatment was developed, but what do you expect from a government run by liberal progressive Democrats?
