Anita Shaw, an Army sergeant who was serving in Iraq when her son Jamiel, a high school football star in Los Angeles, was brutally murdered near his home on March 2
"The suspect in his killing is Pedro Espinosa, an identified gang member who a day earlier had been released from police custody despite facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon. One other important fact about Espinosa: he is an illegal alien who could have been remanded to federal custody had the Los Angeles Police Department been allowed to inquire about immigration status." according to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
"LA’s gang violence has a strong racial component. Of an estimated 39,000 gang members, about 56 percent are in Latino gangs and 40 percent are in black gangs. Many hispanic gang-bangers are illegal aliens. Increasingly, Hispanic gang members kill random blacks to drive them out of the area — ethnic cleansing, in other words. Interestingly, even the hacks at the Southern Poverty Law Center, who have attacked the Minutemen and other friends of borders, have noticed the purposeful, racist attacks on black Americans by Hispanics," noted Brenda Walker at VDARE in a 2007 article.
Los Angeles is a declared sanctuary city with a policy, known as Special Order 40, that prevents police from inquiring about immigration status. City Council members have refused to consider repealing Special Order 40, which was implemented 30 years ago.
They also oppose the federal SAVE Act, which would step up enforcement against employers who hire illegal aliens. The mayor even wrote a letter to Homeland Security advocating for illegal aliens and their employers.
The Los Angeles City Council appears to be more concerned about coddling illegal alien criminals than protecting American citizens who are being murdered because of the color of their skin.
