100 Days with a Dangerous Radical in the White House

President Obama-Change for the Worse

The mainstream media has lauded Obama's first 100 days as the best thing since FDR and JFK. We at the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) think it is wrong to compare Obama to past Presidents. We think it is more prudent to prepare the country for what can happen if Obama's policies are implemented. Here is a look at some dangerous policy impacts on the horizon.

Impact on Spending, Debt, and Taxes

President Obama's $3.69 trillion budget will raise taxes on all Americans by $1.4 trillion over the next decade, and will permanently elevate federal spending to nearly 23 percent of the entire economy by 2019-a level reached only three times since the end of World War II.

The President's budget dumps a staggering $9.3 trillion in new debt-$68,000 per household-into the laps of America's children and grandchildren. This is more debt than has been accumulated by all previous Presidents in American history from George Washington to George W. Bush-combined.

Impact on Cap-and-Trade

The so-called "Cap-and-Trade" plan to auction off polluting permits to companies would end up hitting us hard in all of our pocketbooks. The President's budget proposes a $646 billion cap-and-trade tax that energy companies would immediately pass on to all consumers, including those earning less than $250,000.

Impact on National Security

The President approved a cut of 15 percent of the Pentagon's budget for missile defense and abandoning deploying defenses in Western Europe. Instead of speaking softly and carrying a big stick the President has us speaking softly and carrying no stick. The North Koreans have already tested a ballistic missile and have scorned any attempts at coming back to the six party talks.

President Obama's Justice Department released documents on terrorist interrogation tactics used by the CIA after 9/11, yet refused to declassify and release additional material that describes the full scope and context of the program, including the effectiveness of the CIA interrogations.

Impact on Health Care

With Obama's health care plan, big government will "crowd out" private insurance and millions of Americans will be forced into government health plans against their will. Many physicians are already opting out of Medicaid because they do not get paid on time. How can the President expect more government interference to work better?

These are just a few of the negative impacts of his first 100 days. Pay attention to tomorrow and the next day because Obama's radical agenda is not finished. It is important to make sure we stick to Republican principles of limited government, low taxes, and a strong national defense to make this country better for our children and grandchildren.
