Meet the team that’s dismantling the illicit drug trade

The White House • April 20, 2018

President Trump visited the Joint Interagency Task Force South yesterday in Key West. The Task Force is a crucial team that many Americans have likely never heard about. Led by top officials from the Armed Services and key Federal agencies, its efforts to dismantle the illicit drug trade have saved countless American lives.

The Task Force faced record drug production during Fiscal Year 2017. In response, it supported the removal of a record 283 metric tons of cocaine and 5 kilograms of heroin, as well as the detention of 900 suspected members of drug trafficking organizations. Helping to lead an international coalition, the Task Force oversees a staggering area of 42 million square miles across the globe.

"We are behind you all the way," President Trump said. "And we want to thank you." The President called on Congressional Democrats to support the Task Force by closing loopholes that allow drugs and human traffickers to spill into the United States. "We need border protection; we need the wall," he said.

FIGHTING SEX TRAFFICKING

"We must do everything we can to end human trafficking—and that starts with shutting down the places where traffickers operate.

Earlier this year, we voted for H.R. 1865, the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA) to help authorities crack down on websites that enable sex trafficking, and this week, the President signed the bill into law.

FOSTA amends the Communications Decency Act to hold websites more accountable that knowingly facilitate or support sex trafficking while creating a new federal crime for websites that promote illegal prostitution. This legislation gives states and prosecutors the tools they need to enforce sex trafficking statutes on the books and provides victims a path forward so they can seek justice from websites that knowingly provide safe harbor to human traffickers.

Online sex trafficking is a heinous crime that tragically occurs on a daily basis.

Giving law enforcement the tools to prosecute websites that knowingly facilitate illegal prostitution and giving sex trafficking victims the ability to seek much-needed restitution is a positive step in stopping the manipulation and exploitation of the vulnerable through the internet."

One billion are dead. Calling it "choice" doesn't mean they are any less dead.

By Cliff Kincaid    (condensed)
President, America's Survival, Inc.

"The Greatest Genocide Ever," links the ongoing death toll from abortion to the advent of Communism in Russia:

A sensational new report, the first of its kind, documents the number of abortions in the world, since the Russian Communist revolution legalized abortion, at 1 billion. This makes abortion the greatest genocide ever. Thomas Jacobson of the Global Life Campaign discusses the new report, which is co-authored with Dr. Wm. Robert Johnston and now available to the public, and the role of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's infamous population control document, "National Security Study Memorandum 200. " Jacobson and host Cliff Kincaid also examine how the United Nations has become a leading proponent of abortion worldwide as a "human right." Globally, the Chinese Communist dictatorship is now the leader in death by abortion, with 381 million abortions and Russia at 256 million, while the U.S. has destroyed 60 million of the unborn since the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision of 1973.

...What about an unborn baby day, in addition to the annual March for Life? Make unborn babies great again! Watch our video and hope and pray for the innocent victims of abortion.

Bashing the Bible

 By Gary Bauer

GQ has jumped into the culture war again, this time by bashing the Bible.  The magazine has published a list of books that it thinks should not be read.

Along with classics like Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and almost anything by Ernest Hemmingway, the Bible makes the list for allegedly being "repetitive, self-contradictory, sententious, foolish, and even at times ill-intentioned."

Give me a break!  Does anyone really care what GQ thinks about the Bible?  This is like an ant declaring Mount Kilimanjaro "overrated."  I can't wait to read GQ's review of the Koran.

5 Reasons Next Year Will Be Less Taxing

The April 17 Federal income tax deadline [has passed and it] is a perfect opportunity to remind your neighbors that this is the last time they will have to deal with America's old, broken tax code thanks to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed by Republicans in Congress and signed by President Donald Trump in December. Five big changes stand out:

  1. Lower tax rates for Americans across the board - hard-working Americans will keep more of what they earn.
  2. A nearly doubled standard deduction.
  3. A doubled child tax credit to help families, along with better saving options for education.
  4. A simpler process to make filing taxes less of a headache.
  5. Relief from the Affordable Care Act's ineffective mandate.

On the business side, tax reform is unleashing growth. Small business confidence surged to a record high following the passage of tax cuts, and it remains at historically high levels. Employers are ready to expand—good news for workers as the unemployment rate remains at a 17-year low of 4.1 percent.

Senate Candidate Nick Freitas Blows Past Fundraising Expectations; Nearly $350,000 Raised In Q1

CULPEPER, VA – U.S. Senate candidate and Virginia Delegate Nick Freitas today reported $343,712 raised and more than $250,000 cash-on-hand for its first quarterly campaign finance report.

Virginia Delegate Nick Freitas released the following statement:

"This campaign is being driven by the grassroots. With 5,373 individual donors, giving an average of $63.97, the men and women of Virginia have found a candidate who has a history of sharing their values in the General Assembly and will bring the fight to Tim Kaine's liberal agenda.

As a former Green Beret, I know how to fight and win. My campaign gained ballot-access on the first day of filing and is approaching $400,000 raised. We will take this message of liberty and Virginia's values to victory on June 12th and ultimately November 6th - when we send Tim Kaine packing from Washington, D.C."

The Nick Freitas for U.S. Senate campaign was officially announced in January 2018.

Sunday, April 29th: E.W. Jackson to make a Major Address on Race in Charlottesville

April 23, 2018

Major Speech On Race by

Bishop E.W. Jackson

Virginia Candidate for US Senate

Dear Friends,

One of the passions of my life is to bring Americans together across racial and cultural lines, and not allow the left to rip us apart. That is one of the reasons I am running for US Senate. In addition to filing important legislation, I will make the office of US Senator a platform for cultural renewal. The principles upon which this nation was founded are what made us the greatest nation in human history. Those principles came predominantly from Virginians.

It was a Virginian who wrote these words:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Those words lit the torch of liberty not only for Americans, but for the whole world. When people think of freedom, they think of the United States. When we think of those who most eloquently articulated the cause of liberty and were in the forefront of the fight, we think of Virginians - Patrick Henry, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Mason.

Sadly, there are those who want to use the issue of race to subvert the glorious legacy bequeathed to us by these great men because in spite of their profound insight and inspiration, they were not perfect. Like every human being who has ever lived, they were subject to the influence of their times. Yet they also rose above those influences and created a nation that would affirm our common humanity, regardless of race.

It has been fifty years since the death of Dr. Martin Luther King. What would he think if he were here today? I will share my thoughts about that in the very city which last year faced a major racial confrontation. We've been told that confrontation was over Confederate Monuments. Is that true?

On Sunday, April 29th at 6 PM at the Double Tree Hotel, 990 Hilton Heights Rd. in Charlottesville, I will give a major address assessing where we are in race relations and my vision for the future of our country.

No Senate candidate in post civil war history has ever given a speech on this subject because it is considered too risky, but someone must have the courage to address this malignant obstacle to our social progress as a nation.

There are those who benefit from keeping us divided, but most citizens want us to be "one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." That's what I want, and I will lay it all on the line as a US Senator to help move us in that direction.

When I see you on the 29th, you will know exactly what I mean.

For God & Country,

E.W. Jackson

P.S. The event is free, but seating is limited. Please RSVP at events@ewjackson.com or call 757-744-0222.

FRC Joins 31 Military Religious Liberty Advocates On Letter Thanking Air Force Secretary for Standin

April 12, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Family Research Council, along with a coalition of 31 organizations and individuals, released a letter sent today to Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson thanking her for overturning a punishment that was imposed on Col. Leland Bohannon after he sought a religious accommodation exempting him from having to sign a "certificate of spouse appreciation" for an airman in a same-sex marriage.

Last December, Family Research Council (FRC) and American Family Association (AFA) delivered a petition with 77,024 signatures to the Air Force Secretary in support of Colonel Leland Bohannon. The petition asked Secretary Wilson to fully reverse the complaint against Colonel Bohannon and remove any indication of it from his record. The letter also asked the Air Force Secretary to correct Air Force policy to ensure this does not happen again.

The letter reads:

"We, representatives of the undersigned groups, are writing to express our thanks to you for your principled and courageous decision to uphold the right of Colonel Leland Bohannon to act in accordance with his sincerely-held religious beliefs. In December 2017, we wrote to you expressing our concern that Col. Bohannon's religious freedoms were being unlawfully disregarded when he was harshly disciplined rather than being given the religious accommodation he requested.

"We take great comfort in your statement that '[t]he Air Force places a high value on the rights of its members to observe the tenets of their respective religions or to observe no religion at all.' We fully agree with your observation later in the letter that '[t]he decision on appeal applied current Air Force policy and the law.' Likewise, President Trump should be greatly praised for issuing an executive order in May 2017 intended to promote free speech and religious liberty across the government.

"In closing, we wish to reiterate our appreciation for your willingness to remind the United States Air Force of the need to recognize the full scope of the law protecting the free exercise of service members' religious freedoms," the letter concludes.

FreedomWorks for America Endorses Nick Freitas in U.S. Senate Race Against Tim Kaine

CULPEPER, VA- FreedomWorks for America, an organization that promotes free markets and individual liberty, has endorsed Delegate Nick Freitas in his campaign to unseat United States Senator Tim Kaine.

Noah Wall, Executive Director of FreedomWorks for America, released the following statement:

Nick Freitas served two tours in Iraq as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces and continues to serve the Commonwealth as a state delegate. He has a proven record of voting to restrain spending, shrink government, and protect educational freedom and civil liberties.

Nick Freitas doesn't just talk the talk. He has the courage to make principled votes when it counts. We need more fighters in Congress, and Freitas would be a trusted ally to fellow constitutional conservatives Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) in the U.S. Senate. Not surprisingly, they both endorsed him already.

The organization also announced it "will be working to mobilize conservative activists and community leaders to 'Get Out The Vote' for Nick Freitas in the weeks leading to the June 12 primary."
