Robert Hurt Honored By National Senior Organization For His Commitment To 5th District Seniors
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman
Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) today released the following statement after receiving
the RetireSafe Standing Up For America’s Seniors Award for his leadership in
Congress on behalf of our seniors:
“Preserving
critical retirement security programs for our 5th District
seniors is of great importance to me and I am honored to receive this
recognition. The people that I represent know that Medicare is on an
unsustainable path and they want real leadership to save the program – not
a kick the can down the road type of leadership we have seen in years past. On
behalf of Virginia’s 5th District, I remain committed to
working to strengthen this critical program for our seniors, ensuring that it
is available for current and future beneficiaries, and doing so while helping
to restore our nation to fiscal sustainability.”
