Recognizing Constitution Day
WASHINGTON,
D.C.—Congressman
Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) released the following statement recognizing the 225th anniversary
of the signing of the United States Constitution:
“On
this day, we are once again reminded of the importance of our founding
principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty that
so many risked their lives for over 200 years ago. Throughout generations, the
words written our Constitution have inspired many across the world to set sail
to our shores in search of the liberties afforded to us by this document and it
is critical that we remain committed to defending these freedoms that we hold
dear. We must not lose sight of the government our Founders envisioned when
they convened at the Constitutional Convention and we must preserve our
founding principles so that can leave our children and grandchildren a better
America than our parents left to us.”
