Obama: The non-bipartisan

Chicago-style politics come to Washington, along with higher taxes, repressing freedom of speech, unlimited taxpayer funded unborn slayings, parental disenfranchisement, gutting our military, and confiscating retirement income.

Just Say “NO!”

"Within hours of Senator Barack Obama’s election, those on the Left, in the media and even some in our ranks began making demands for conservatives to cooperate with the new administration in the early months of his presidency. I reject those demands.

The evidence is overwhelming that President-elect Obama does not intend to “cooperate” with us. Appointing Rahm Emmanuel, another hardball tactician from Chicago, as his White House chief-of-staff is clear indication of Obama’s “game plan.” Emmanuel is a ruthless partisan.

Moreover, Obama has no history of bipartisan cooperation and was ranked the most liberal member of the Senate. His team has been studying Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s first 100 days as a model of what they want to do. They intend, in the glow of their victory, to ram through as much of their liberal agenda as they can. It is imperative that conservatives in and out of government resist any effort to move the country sharply to the left.

Think about it. Just what is it in the new president’s agenda that we are supposed to compromise on, cooperate with or embrace? Is it his plan to raise taxes on the most successful small businesses? Should we “make nice” with him as he tries to silence conservative talk radio? Are we supposed to remain quiet while he rams through the Freedom of Choice Act, which would repeal the ban on partial-birth abortions, strike down state parental notification laws and require us to pay for the abortions of women who cannot afford them?

Representative Barney Frank wants to cut defense spending by 25% immediately. Should we “go along to get along”? Leading Democrats have already held hearings on abolishing the tax deductions for your 401K retirement plans because they “help the rich.” Should we say nothing?

When George W. Bush won the presidency in 2000, the Left declared war on him the next day, and they did not let up for eight years. I’m not surprised that the media and their leftwing allies are trying to browbeat conservatives into submission. But why are some on our side so anxious to reassure Obama, Reid and Pelosi that we will be nice while Obama declares war on every conservative value we cherish?

It won’t be easy, but more Americans still describe themselves as conservative than as liberal, and they are looking for leadership, not more sellouts"
