"Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, has a guest editorial in today’s USA Today. In it she manages to write about the Christmas Day attempted terrorist attack without ever mentioning words such as jihad, Islam, Muslim, war, etc. Our president no doubt loved it, since it completely reflects his view that we have a crime problem rather than a war problem with Islamofascists.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who only narrowly lost the chance to receive his 30 virgins on Christmas Day for killing us, had no confusion at all about what he was doing or why we was doing it. He didn’t see himself as a criminal. He wrote on his blog that as his Muslim faith strengthened, he began to have fantasies. He described his main fantasy with these chilling words: “I imagine how the great jihad will take place, how the Muslims will win insha Allah (Allah willing) and rule the whole world, and establish the greatest empire once again.”

Can you imagine a conversation between Barack Obama and Abdulmutallab?

Obama: “Islam is a religion of peace.”

Abdulmutallab: “I dream of killing the infidel!”

Obama: “Jihad means self-improvement.”

Abdulmutallab: “Jihad is holy war!”

Obama: “Come to my Ramadan dinner at the White House!”

Abdulmutallab: “Do you intend to feed me before I slit your throat?”

My point is simply this: No matter how many times our government officials and their liberal supporters mouth politically correct nonsense about our current predicament, the reality is that countless young Muslims from London to Gaza to Nigeria and even here are dreaming murderous dreams. The longer our leaders remain delusional, the more likely more of us will die."

New York, NY: Statement of Project 21 Fellow Deneen Borelli on Congressional Research Service ACORN report requested by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI, which absolves ACORN of allegations of misusing taxpayer money received over the past five years:

"Anyone who saw the video of undercover filmmakers being advised by several different ACORN offices on how to break tax laws and set up brothels can figure that taxpayer money is likely being misspent somewhere by this radical group. Representative Conyers' refusal to conduct an investigation of ACORN, and ignoring the pleas of his colleagues in the process, is appalling.

"Now, it seems as if he is going to try to hide behind a report he commissioned from a research service controlled by the congressional leadership of which he is a member. This doesn't pass the smell test. There are plenty of things suspect about ACORN. Just watch the video. Or talk to prosecutors in several cities currently conducting investigations of ACORN-related vote fraud. Or read about how former a ACORN bookkeeper may have embezzled as much as $5 million from the group.

"Americans are appalled that taxpayers' funds are supporting the work of ACORN. The fact that ACORN receives hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal grants is reason enough for a formal Congressional investigation even without the allegations of wrongdoing.

"For Conyers to question the need for a bipartisan oversight hearing on ACORN is akin to his questioning of the need to read the health care bill earlier this year. It raises the question: What exactly are his responsibilities in his mind? Why are taxpayers paying his salary?"

President Obama may have given himself a "good solid B-plus" on his first year, but you can bet that Planned Parenthood is giving him much higher marks--especially after its Secret Santa gifted millions more in taxpayer-funded abortion. When the President inked his name on the $447 billion Omnibus bill yesterday, he was effectively signing the check for tens of thousands of D.C. abortions. Maybe that explains why ABC News is reporting that the President "seemed a little embarrassed about the whole deal, refusing to sign the bill in public or even to release a photograph."

Despite his call to "reduce abortions," this White House is freeing up more taxpayer dollars for the slaughter of innocent unborn children than any President in U.S. history. Initiatives like the "National Task Force to Reduce Abortions" and the promise that "No federal dollars will be used to fund abortions" appear to be nothing more than a facade. It masks an administration that has done nothing to reduce abortion--but everything in its power to expand it. Remember, barely 24 hours into his first term, this President immediately set to work undoing years of pro-life policy. Among President Obama's first acts was lifting a ban on taxpayer-funded abortion--overturning the Mexico City policy just one day after the 35th March for Life. Today, he's carrying on that tradition in his own backyard, forcing taxpayers to finance the procedure in a city with the highest abortion rate in the country (2005). The same will be done for the rest of the nation if the President succeeds in passing his so-called healthcare reform bill presently in the Senate. The same man who asked, "How can we reduce the number of abortions?" refuses to accept the easy answer: stop paying for them!

Al Gore Melts Down

Al Gore, the former politician masquerading as a renowned scientist, has done it again. He told attendees at the Copenhagen climate change summit yesterday that Arctic ice would be completely gone in five years. Gore cited Dr. Wieslav Maslowski as his source “that there is a 75% chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice free within five to seven years.”

As you can imagine, Gore’s assertion made headlines all over the world this morning and is being used by the-sky-is-falling crowd to demand another major take-over of world economies by government. There is only one little detail that Gore has to clear up: Dr. Maslowski has made no such claim. He told the few reporters who actually called him that, “It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at. I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

When told about Gore’s claim, Dr. Jim Overland, a leading oceanographer at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, responded, “This is an exaggeration that opens the science up to criticism from skeptics.” You have that right, professor!

Here’s the amazing thing, my friends: Al Gore is still given credibility. A month ago he claimed that the interior of the earth “is extremely hot, several million degrees.” But most scientists believe the temperature of the earth’s core is 5,000 degrees Celsius while some contrarians argue it is 9,000 degrees Celsius. If the core of the earth were several million degrees, the earth would be a star! Of course the upside would be that Al Gore would no longer be walking around spouting nonsense and calling it science.

Al Gore is getting very rich on his sham science. In fact, he is well on his way to becoming the world’s first global warming billionaire. But if his policies become law, the rest of us will be very poor.

Obama’s Report Card

Last weekend ABC aired a “White House Christmas Special” with the Obamas and Oprah Winfrey. During the interview, Oprah asked Barack what grade he would give himself through his first 11 months as president. Instead of giving a generic answer avoiding any actual letter grade, Obama had the boldness to proclaim he thinks he has earned a “good, solid B+.” Really, Mr. President? A B+? I don’t think so.

· History- F: Barack Obama’s first 11 months have been filled with international speeches apologizing to the world for all our failures and mistakes. He refuses to acknowledge American exceptionalism and has even said “no one country should dominate another.” I would think that a man who received a law degree from Harvard University would know that throughout history there have always been nations and civilizations that dominate others.

· Science- D-: Barack Obama is still a staunch advocator for the theory of global warming. Despite the recent “Climategate” scandal, and data that show the average global temperature hasn’t risen in 10 years, Obama is determined to sign a treaty that promises to cut American carbon emissions even if it means crippling our economy- all based on false science.

· Mathematics- D: Obama can’t add. He still does not understand that when the federal government spends money uncontrollably, our debt will continue to grow. Our debt is at $12 trillion and counting, with more government spending on the horizon. Not only is spending like this irresponsible, but it harms our national security with countries like China, which underwrites the majority of our debt.

· Geography- D: According to Barack Obama, Israel is the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East. This even though its seven million citizens are surrounded by 250 million Muslims, many of whom seek Israel’s destruction. He obviously hasn’t looked at a map! Obama’s relationship with Israel has been tense to say the least. He is convinced that the Jewish people should not have the right to build homes in their country’s capital.

· Spelling- D-: His Vice President, Joe Biden, apparently never passed this class in grade school. During the campaign last year Biden famously said, “Look, John (McCain)’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three letter word: J-O-B-S.”

Typically, with grades like these, there is opportunity for improvement. But with this administration, not even a tutor would help.
