WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) today released the following statement after attending an address to a joint session of Congress by South Korean President Park Geun-Hye:
"I was pleased to receive President Park at today's joint session of Congress where she affirmed the importance of the strong U.S. – Republic of Korea alliance that still remains today. Nearly sixty years after the end of the Korean War, this partnership is as important as ever at a time when stability in Northeast Asia is threatened by North Korean saber-rattling. As we work together to protect our interests and our allies, it is critical that we maintain a joint commitment to our goal of stability and freedom in the region."
