Congressman Perriello Sells Out Virginia

Tom Perriello, said to be Princess Pelosi's pampered pet, shows he can bring home the bacon, or American-hating, blood-thirsty terrorists, as the case may be.

Perriello Casts Deciding Vote to Bring Gitmo Detainees to U.S. Soil - Freshman Sides with Pelosi, Risks Bringing Terrorists to Virginia

RICHMOND – Freshman Congressman Tom Perriello (D-5th District) today cast the deciding vote on a crucial measure, paving the way for the closure of the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (House Roll Call 360 and 361), thus risking the relocation of dangerous terrorists to United States soil.
“This is a vote of outrageous irresponsibility,” said Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Pat Mullins. “Tom Perriello clearly felt he had to cave under the pressure of the White House and Nancy Pelosi. His actions have opened up the possibility that we will have terrorists moving into a prison in Virginia.”
Rep. Jerry Lewis offered an amendment to prohibit the funding of President Obama’s executive order to close the facility, but it failed by a vote of 212-216. After a subsequent vote, the count was 212-213. Perriello voted with Speaker Nancy Pelosi to allow the funding, thereby clearing a path for detainees to be moved to U.S. territory.

“I think the people in Perriello’s district will be shocked to learn that he put his fear of party leadership ahead of the best interests of the people of Virginia,” Mullins said. “This was a test of Tom Perriello’s concern about public safety, and he flunked it.”
