Today, September 11, marks the 11th anniversary of one of the most terrifying and tragic days our nation has ever endured.
Every day since that fateful day in 2001, and especially now, our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims of the attacks.
As we remember the nearly 3,000 men, women and children who were killed that day, we also honor those who showed bravery, heroism, and compassion in the face of horrible violence.
Now, more than ever, it is so important to rekindle the sense of strength and courage shown by all Americans in the hours, days, and weeks following those devastating attacks. It is in that spirit of fortitude and unity that we look ahead to a better, brighter future for our nation—one of rebuilding, growth, and peace.
On behalf of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, I thank you for the generosity and courage you showed 11 years ago, and that you show today.
Together, we are moving forward, but shall never forget.
Sincerely,
Senator John Cornyn
NRSC Chairman
