When Republicans Beat Their Drum, Our Nation Will Be Saved

Guest Columnist Terry T. Beatley, www.parentalrights.org

An older black pastor recently asked me, “Why don’t Republicans beat their own drum? How come they can’t get their message into the black community?” In other words, how can we teach the principles of freedom to the very people who have suffered the most under the consequences of Democrat Party progressivism- the black American family? How can conservative Republicans take back our country from the liberal left? How can we once again experience landslide victories with leaders as principled as Ronald Reagan before we morph into a communist Corinth?

This is the answer. Disseminating the truth about Planned Parenthood’s federally funded black genocide agenda opens the doors to teach about black American Republican political history that’s been removed from textbooks and the annals of history. In so doing, we will save lives, liberty, heal the racial divide and cripple the Democrat Party. Making a gigantic leap toward breaking generational government dependence and poverty, the Republican Party will restore dignity, justice and righteousness to a country that calls good evil and evil good. Investing the time, sharing the information and forging relationships to prove that we care will dismantle the minority stronghold of the Democrat Party and as votes transfer to fiscally and socially conservative Republicans, our nation will be saved from the advancing socialists’ agenda.

If Matthew Fontaine Maury, Pathfinder of the Sea, was still of alive, he would probably tell us the answer to our Republican “marketing-the-message” dilemma is in Scripture. In the 1800’s, Psalm 8 revealed to him that there were paths in the seas. Pursuing this promise, he discovered ocean currents. Consequently, he shrunk the world, expanded economies, sped up travel and the distribution of goods and services, as well as, helped prove to future generations that God’s word provides answers.

Could it provide the answers we need to solve our Republican marketing-the-message dilemma? God clearly states in Hosea 4:6 that “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” I question what would happen if the majority of the minorities learned about the seventy years of missing black Republican political history. Speaking of perishing, 40% of African American babies are aborted- 60% in New York City and with statistics like these, the most dangerous place for a black person to be is in his mother’s womb. This tragedy is not by accident, but is the result of federally funded social policy agendas of Secular Humanists and Marxists…in other words, worldviews that make killing people incredibly justifiable; worldviews that collide with the Judeo/Christian worldview of our Founders. It’s the agenda of federally funded Planned Parenthood…modern day Klu Klux Klan. So what happens when we love our neighbor enough to expose this evil? (Ephesians 5:11)

It bears tremendous fruit. After I shared with the first black minister, he stated, “I will never vote for a pro-choice candidate again.” Now that the door was opened to talk politics and after disclosing the facts about black Republican history, he shared with the Virginia Speaker of the House, Bill Howell, that he had “to repent for voting for the wrong political party all of his life. He just didn’t know.” Another pastor confessed to “having to repent for removing herself from government for twenty years.” (translated: only voting for Democrat candidates) Black Americans respond when we reach out in love, friendship and truth, not political short-term gimmicks. It’s about relationships and honesty. My experience from working with downtown Richmond, Virginia inner-city pastors to rural area pastors and congregations, they so appreciate the information and many are willing to align their votes with their values. Anything less is a vote to annihilate their race and hinder liberty.

So if saving lives and liberty is the sincere motivation of spreading truth to minorities, conservative Republicans can dismantle and cripple the Democrat Party one drum beat at a time. No tomahawks required. The United States of America will experience a providential victory: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 33:12

Republicans, let the drum roll begin from sea to shining sea.

Act to Stop the Lawlessness of this Administration

Guest Columnist J. Dori Callahan

The liberal politicians with the majority in the Federal government are overreaching the executive orders by legislative malfeasance and judicial diktat. They have abandoned their sacred oaths while putting our nation in peril.

Over a million citizens have marched on Washington, written letters, and telephoned congressional representatives seeking intervention to stop the Obama Health Care bill. Despite a majority of Americans opposing this Health Care bill, the will of the people was ignored and dismissed by this administration and the bill passed with back room deals and payoffs.

The Congressional spending of borrowed funds and apparent lack of concern that the national debt is already insurmountable disturb citizens. People can no longer trust the government to provide financial or military security, and believe it possible that the United States is headed toward socialism and financial failure.

With determination and spirit, citizens can take back our government and demand that congressional actions must be brought back within the original Constitution constraints.

If Americans do not act now, and the Rule of Law is overruled by the rule of men, tyranny and anarchy will prevail, and the law will depend on which of the parties possesses the majority of votes. The disregard of constitutional rules is clearly demonstrated by the flagrant lawlessness in the current administration. Citizens must understand that this type of government rule is abolishing our freedoms and denying fundamental liberties.

We must take back our nation before nothing is left to take back.

The Role of Women in American Politics

Guest Columnist Haley Bader

It is a societal flaw that women are regarded as inferior to or less productive than men. American history, along with the majority of the histories of other cultures, proves that women have long been disregarded or repressed. However, as of August 26, 1920, American women ascertained their worth by winning the right to vote. In the years following this victory, women have participated in nearly every role in politics, from Sandra Day O'Connor as the first female Justice of the Supreme Court, to Hillary Clinton, who ran for President in the Democratic Convention, and Sarah Palin, who ran for Vice President in the past election. These brave women dedicated their lives to politics, and in doing so, have inspired women of all ethnicities and political affiliations. They have shown us that it is not only important, but also right, for women to be
involved.

In today's society, women still face many issues on being taken seriously as politicians. It is said that if you are a female politician, you are either a heartless woman, practically a man, or eye candy, useful only for entertaining male politicians. These assumptions are both stereotypical and dead wrong. Hillary Clinton may have been a harsh candidate, but she was successful, and is now our Secretary of State. Sarah Palin battled family issues and braved harsh criticism to run for Vice President with John McCain, and she never backed down. What is common in both women is their incredible strength of mind and personal fortitude. To be an electable female politician, one must be strong and willing to sacrifice much of her self for the greater good of other women.

Personal responsibility is one of the most important things for the youth of our society to be exposed to. Female politicians can best encourage adolescents to be responsible by sharing their life experiences and mistakes. Some female politicians come to schools to promote abstinence, and speak of regrets, relief, or health issues. Others prove the importance of family values by showcasing their own families. Truly, the best way for female politicians to encourage personal responsibility is by being responsible themselves. Their responsible actions will influence those who watch them because of their unrelenting exposure to the public eye.

Sarah Palin was criticized for the way she dealt with her daughter's pregnancy, and for the way she ran her family. However, she handled the situations with determination and grit. She chose to have her son Trig, a child with Down's syndrome, instead of aborting the fetus. Her courageousness inspired and gave hope to many mothers of Down's syndrome children, and other mothers chose to keep the babies they were considering to abort. Other female politicians organize rallies to speak out against abortion, promote fidelity in marriage, and many emphasize the importance of abstinence to preserve one's emotional and physical health. All of these actions help to strengthen morality, as well as maintain freedom. The choice to speak out in support of morality is the epitome of freedom, as it is the action of speaking out to promote one's opinion.

Female politicians may best be able to promote morality and responsibility because they are female, and therefore promote the image of motherly, caring figures. This image, and the strength it takes to be a politician, has the power to enthuse not only young women, but support a respectable image of the female in our society as a whole.

The Palin Effect

Guest Columnist Julie Eaheart

Throughout the history of the United States, women have been underestimated and discriminated against. They have been considered useless, weak, and, ultimately, unworthy of power. However, today, an arctic blast has cracked America's glass ceiling. From an Alaska governor to this year's vice presidential nominee for the Republican Party, Sarah Palin has opened the door to a new era for women in today's political world. Despite her humble beginnings, Sarah Palin has succeeded, through her grit and determination, to become one of the most recognized and admired women in America. With her record of reform, hard work, and audacity to fight against the "good ole boy" network, she has exemplified how women become electable in America. However, most importantly, her historical ascendance as a political leader has inspired millions of women across the country. Sarah Palin has shown the world that you can be a devoted wife, mother of five children, and chief executive of a vast state. Despite the existence of gender stereotyping in today's politics, Palin, a pit bull with lipstick, has effectively promoted civic responsibility and empowered women to take on political positions. Although she has been and continues to be a lightening rod for liberal attack, she has proved her resilience and strong leadership as one of the most powerful women in the United States.

Like Palin, we, as women, can strengthen the lives of all Americans through our political participation and community involvement. Women are just as capable as men. By positively influencing others, we have the ability to better society. And, let's face it; we are the backbone of our nation. Because we make up nearly 54 percent of the electorate, we have the power, as a collective gender, to make a difference. We are all leaders. And, we can all bring about more inclusive and representative policies.

I believe that Sarah Palin's choices made throughout her lifetime show tremendous moral courage. While many women have either delayed of chosen not to have children, in order to further their careers, Sarah Palin had her first child in her early twenties and her fifth child, a special needs child, in her early forties. She is unabashedly pro life! Her devotion to God, family, and our American way of life is an inspiration to all Americans! It is through remarkable women like Sarah Palin that the United States stands as a beacon of hope for the liberation, freedom, and equal rights of women across the globe!

Marion Simpson Scholarship Entry

Guest Columnist Kimberly Finks

Women are an important part of society. We are the steel thread that helps to hold the nation together. For a long time, we have tried to become a part of the political world, and during the 2008 presidential election, we came close. By having women represent the public in the political world, we would gain a new perspective; something different from the traditional male views'

In 2008, a woman, by the name of Sarah Palin, ran for vice-president. She truly inspired women throughout the country and helped others to believe that we can change the world we have come to know. Palin did more than just run in the election, she helped to raise morality in the country while maintaining freedom. Palin helped the country to realize just how important are troops are and that they will still be important no matter what happens. She did this by helping women to believe that their opinion and vote do matter. More women are exercising their right to freedom of speech through voting in today's world.

Because of Sarah Palin, I will make sure that I register to vote in the upcoming elections. She has allowed me to believe and feel that my vote and opinion do matter. I am also a proud American who believes that women have the right and privilege to serve and run for offices of political power.

The Role of Women in American Politics

Guest Columnist Jennifer Dodson

The role of women in politics has been majorly overlooked but in all reality when we look at women in today's American society we can see that their involvement in politics is becoming more common. Women are becoming more active everyday in politics and in the formation of future America. As the role of women in politics grows I believe America will ultimately become a better place because of the fact that the roles in politics would be equal between men and women. I fully support the role of women in America and its political system in which I hope women become highly involved.

I believe that women can and should be electable because of their already high involvement in America and its politics. I believe that to become more electable that women should put themselves out more to the American society. Women need to make known their presence to America and their longing for a position in the American government. If women were electable there would also be more freedom given out to the women of the United States because there would be a women present in the politics of America.

Women can also inspire personal responsibility in today's society. This can be done in many ways but the most major way to inspire this responsibility is to show all of America the proper etiquette of behaving in society. The way women can do this is to simply show the rest of America how to probably behave in society. Women show their roles greatly by inspiring those around them in their daily lives and this I believe is a great way that women inspire personal responsibility.

The next thing women could do to impact American society and politics is to be able to strengthen the morality of America while maintaining its freedom. This can be done I believe by women being elected as President and being able to set an example for the rest of the United States. Women that would be elected as president of the United States could lead and show the standards by which America should live everyday. America is a majestic nation and I believe that by giving women more freedom and ability, America and its politics would greatly benefit the United States. It would impact the future of America greatly and make way for more freedom to be embedded in the country.

Women need to be given more roles in America and its political system. Women would benefit the United States greatly and help it to become a better country. I believe women would make a great nation and I hope that as America grows the role of women escalates to higher levels.

Introducing Female Politicians

Guest Columnist Cara McCurry

Everyone has a song to which they turn for motivation and courage - a song whose melody and rhythm are so personal and moving as to inspire us to shoot for the moon. The fear of "what-ifs" and all second-guessing evaporate. Swelling cadences fill up the spaces of doubt and caution. The role of women in politics is a relatively new concept. It took a few strong and assertive characters to forge a path for all American women to pursue a career in politics if they were so inclined, to voice their opinion, and have a more equal role in our nation. To this day it takes a lot of courage for a woman to integrate herself into American politics. The biggest hurdle is the first step: getting elected. When running against a man, a woman must go the extra mile. Let's face it. Our history has shown that a man is more likely to win a race when running against a woman; therefore, a woman must take advantage of all opportunities that would set her apart. As all contenders usually are, a female candidate needs to be very personable. It is important to be seen. It is important to listen. Everybody wants to feel like what they have to say is significant. Good listening skills make a good impression. And it is even more imperative to be oneself. The public can tell when you're putting on a show, and that is typical politics to them. A female candidate must find that song that speaks to her and let the courage and confidence become apparent to the voters.

I have played sports all of my life, and there have been a handful of coaches for whom I would have worked until I dropped. They were everything from smart to inspiring to hardcore stubborn. They stirred me to give 110%. It was hard work, and there was a lot of sacrifice involved; however, throughout the entire experience, I felt good about what I was doing. Though punishment meant running and sprinting until we threw up, it was okay. We were taught to take responsibility for our actions, and it was a relief to serve punishment. I use this analogy because it is quite simple. We are expected to take responsibility for less trivial things like athletics, but where is that accountability in society. It is up to a leader to inspire the public. It is up to a leader to raise the bar, to raise the level of expectation. The majority of people want to please and live up to expectations. We live in a world where excuses have become second nature, and excuses absolve us from any consequences of wrong decision-making. I'm not asking for a tyrant, but we need someone to hold us accountable. More importantly, we need a role model who is likable, who has morals, who has a firm grip on her definition of right, and who can listen to the public and transform those appeals into government action.

Politics

Guest Columnist Candace Thomas

To become elected today' is hard enough and being a woman increases the pressure. Try starting with local seats in your community. Have your name to be known for keeping your word and your promises. You should always run a clean campaign, no one likes a dirty ran campaign. A trustworthy campaign manager is also a must. Be an active member in your community. Also try to be available to the public to listen to their concerns. Raising funds to pay for the campaign is also needed.

We as women need to show how to take responsibility for our actions as well as those of others. Today's society has moved away from strong morals. We try to teach our children to respect themselves as well as others. Now lets start using these standards to become more respected public officials. We have seen enough of the backstabbing and under handed elections. If we could bring back some of the higher moral standards to politics I think we would see a huge change in our failing system. I think women are the only way this can be done because the amount of nurturing it will take can only come from a woman. A mother can cradle the community and truly give a caring look into productive changes.

Politics and government bodies are only as good as we make them. If our state senators would listen more to the people who voted them into office, we may be able to make positive changes for our communities, like lowering taxes and raising wages. We need to reduce the need of more government, while working with the people to raise everyone's morals and standards so more laws are not necessary. There is so little trust and respect in our elected officials now that there is no way to raise standards until more women occupy more seats in our government.

While women make up more than half of all elected offices in other countries, here in the United States we hold only 20% of all elected seats. Women are working hard to make the necessary changes to hold higher end elected positions. With this comes the need for more help and financial backing to pay for the costly campaign trails. Lets help change this nations way of looking at women in public offices and elect the more capable women to those seats.

Congress has Forgotten the Voters

Guest Columnist John J. Callahan

Regardless of what political party one believes in, it is important in this crucial time to take a hard look at how elected congressmen /congresswomen are handling the current problems of our nation. One must look at the government as one large business with the voters as the board of directors. As a whole, voters must evaluate the government’s performance on a continual basis. At the moment, neither party is performing satisfactorily. Both parties willingly signed a flawed “Stimulus Package” dedicating billions of dollars to various areas WITHOUT even reading this bill.

That’s a major error in any business. It is unacceptable performance and dereliction of duty. The voters should remove any and all members of congress who signed this package without reading it. Members of Congress are hired by voters (the board of directors) to provide various functions such as: provide a safe nation, a functioning economy, enforcement of all laws such as immigration laws, provide for American welfare and security prior to aiding foreign nations, treat failing businesses as private citizens, no bail outs to failed businesses, implement E-system verifications, remove our country from dependence on foreign resources, create no laws that infringe upon the rights of religious values, maintain a basic budget for simple necessities, eliminate all pork projects in every bill.

Currently this congress continues to sign off on trillions of dollars, without voter approval. Economist say that one cannot get out of debt by borrowing money or by raising taxes. This Congress is doing both, which is an unacceptable practice.

This administration has three times more debt than the last administration plus has allocated more funds in the first 100 days than all other presidents combined.

This congress is over stepping the laws of the Constitution, particularly in taking control of banks and businesses. The current congress is ignoring the Constitution destroying our liberties and not adhering to the direction of the people. Not only did Congress pass the largest spending bill in history without reading it, refused to secure our borders or enforce immigration laws, and are now preparing to spend billions on an amnesty program unauthorized by the voters. They illegally bailed out failing banks and insurance companies and forced privately owned car businesses to close. Congress does not have the authority in the Constitution to do any of these things. Now they are proposing a Cap and Trade bill that will force more taxes on everyone that uses gas, heating oil or natural gas.

As a member of the board of directors, I have reviewed congressional performances ,and recommend that we replace all those who voted for the Stimulus Package without reading the bill. This Congress has forgotten the people who voted them into office. It’s time to remind them who they represent by writing letters, calling or sending e-mails. If their performance does not improve, vote them out of office.

Revolution

Guest Columnist John Callahan

Thomas Jefferson once said (paraphrased) that a little revolution every now and then is good for a country. Also in a Tale of Two Cities Charles Dickens identified the necessity for sacrifice to achieve happiness both at national and a personal level. The current Congress is establishing a regime depicting themselves as the noble men of old, and the rest of the nation as peasants, ignoring the fact it’s the citizens who must suffer and sacrifice to accomplish their goals. Essentially, Congress is practicing taxation without representation, forcing the necessity for that Revolution Thomas Jefferson so eloquently described to come about.

As every day a new “ear mark” is uncovered in the latest 400 billion dollar budget being touted by congress, it becomes crystal clear that the nobles are willing to spend money on just about anything that would insure a continued position in power. Does anyone think frivolous pork spending is a good idea in today’s crumbling economy? When most of the common folks are cutting back on everything from groceries to doctor bills, our congress gives away billions on welfare and health care for illegals while American citizens scratch to survive.

This congress has lost the purpose for their being in office. Somewhere along the way, they forgot that congress was established to protect the American citizens, not line the pockets of the elite or pay for future votes.

Its time now to put all of Congress on notice to either clean up this trillion dollar mess they’re creating or get out of office. If our elected officials are unable to fix this governmental mess, than it’s time to leave office. They can leave on their own, or the people of the great United States can stand up for what they believe in and bring out the “tar and feathers” and escort them out.

Revolutions have developed many times in the past due to officials overstepping positional boundaries, destroying citizens’ liberties and freedoms in the name of progress.

The current Congress is doing the same and it’s time for American citizens to tell Congress to cease their reckless spending and end the give away programs, and go back to basics.

The taxes paid by hard-working citizens should not be wasted in solving problems of other nation’s citizens. Until the United States is out of this faltering economy, Congressmen must devote their time in protection of citizens of this nation and nothing more. No more loans to bankers, insurance companies automobile dealers or playing Santa Claus for non-US entities. Treat these groups the same as you treat the rest of the businesses filing bankruptcy in America.

Congressmen are not nobility, but workers hired by the citizens. And citizens do not expect these hired workers to waste tax dollars on private jets for weekend jaunts either. Congress has elated their positions, forgotten their job and purpose and reasons for their positions. It’s time to fire up the tar pot and pluck the chickens and remind them.

Obama: Where's the "Accountability"?

Guest Columnist: J. Dori Callahan

For the last few weeks we have had several taxpayers coming into our office who have either been laid off, released from long term employment, or simply have no income during this recession/ depression. Some have the benefit of drawing unemployment compensation, those who are self-employed do not have that luxury.

This morning, just to be sure, I called the Virginia Employment Commission to question if there were any benefits available for tax payers who are self employed. I was informed that self-employed individuals who file taxes using 1099’s as a form of income, do not have the benefit of applying for unemployment when there is no self-employment jobs available. These taxpayers have few options available other than charity from Social Services (welfare) or seeking help from local churches. It behooves those who have not been paying self-employment taxes to protect themselves for the future by paying those taxes. This recession/depression could last for many years to be without some sort of financial resource.

In rural communities many folks work as landscapers ,“wood chucks”, care givers, baby sitters, house cleaners etc as their only means of income. As everyone’s financial means grow smaller, they will began cutting unessential items from their budget. Things like home improvement, dinner out, movies, landscaping, care giving services, in fact everything that isn’t necessary to live. No more beauty parlors, health clubs, nails, latte’s and normal luxuries of life. Soon we’ll see an increase in crime simple because people without funds turn to drastic measures for survival. The crimes are already beginning in many areas.

My question is what benefit has the billions and billions of dollars allocated by congress to ear-marks like Senator Reid’s high speed rail for Las Vegas, and Nancy Pelosi’s 30 million for the study of field mice really done for people who are in dire circumstances. Just as the other 8000 plus ear marks paid for out of tax payers money, the government is foolishly spending money for unnecessary “goodies” while working people starve. Is this the kind of “change” we have been promised by the President? What happened to going over the budget line by line and no more earmarks and holding the congressmen accountable? Is this the sort of line-by-line accountability he had planned to help the 95% of the lower income folks?

Americans will Pay for Liberals' flawed ideals

Guest Columnist: J. Dori Callahan

“The idea that even the brightest person or group of bright people, much less the U.S. Congress, can wisely manage an economy has to be the height of arrogance and conceit. Why? Because it is impossible for anyone to possess the knowledge that would be necessary for such an undertaking.”
Economist Walter E. Williams.

This statement pretty much says it all. Not only does Congress lack the ability to do what needs to be done, they did not even read the Stimulus bill prior to passing it. Such audacity borders on insanity, and the taxpayers are left with the results of a mass blunder made by the leaders of the nation.

Congress rushed to pass this unread critical bill that was over a thousand pages long in just two days…after which it sat on the President’s desk for three days while the Obamas’ were away on a vacation.

Shouldn’t such a bill spending such a vast amount of taxpayer money have just the slightest bit of scrutiny by all of Congress, including Republicans? Apparently no one in this administration thinks reading bills prior to passing them is essential.

“The amount of money involved (in the stimulus bill) is staggering. With 90 million tax filers who actually pay taxes, the 787 billion means the average taxpayer will pay over $8,700. By itself adding $8,700 to the average tax bill should get everyone’s attention. But that on top of everything else we are spending this year (this year’s deficit is already about $1.7 trillion…almost $19,000 per taxpayer.”
Economist John Lott.

Isn’t anyone out there paying attention to what is actually happening in this floundering economy? This Congress has completely dropped the ball on protecting the people of this nation. They were the liberals that created this crisis with the pushing of the sub-prime mortgages to people who could not pay. Now the rest of us are required to pay the bill for that mistake as they continue to build on their flawed ideals.

As my husband says, “We should have voted them all out when we had the opportunity.” Now we can only watch as the country struggles to survive.

Listen to what Obama is saying

Guest Columnist J. Dori Callahan

One more time, I am trying to open the eyes and ears of the voting population to the realism of Obamanomics. No one has to be told that the worlds economic system is on the verge of collapse and the America we’ve all enjoyed for generations will be no longer. According to Marxist theory quoted from Wikipedia.org “ the transition to a socialist society required a revolution and the dissolution of the capitalist state.” Obama’s economic plan strongly resembles Marxist/socialist theories.

There are many countries today that at least nominally adhere to Marxism: China, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Yugoslavia, Vietnam, Albania, Cambodia, Ethiopia, South Yeman, Romania along with several others. Some of these countries have been democratic in nature and maintained regular multiparty elections, while most have established authoritarian governments. The authoritarian government is the area where Obama’s policies seem to point.

Listening to Obama’s plan of income redistribution certainly points to be the Government eventually controlling everything, including small businesses. These ideas destroy privately owned business and personal aspirations.

“Many of these self-proclaimed Marxist nations eventually became authoritarian states, with stagnating economies.”

And if this election comes out as predicted, with a Democrat controlled House and Senate, there will be no checks and balance system and Obamanomics will lead the way of the nation. This will cause small businesses closure, more job loss, and larger businesses will abandon America for foreign nations offering opportunities for cheaper labor and less taxes.

Obama’s plan of raising taxes during an economic downturn has been tried before and caused depressions that took years to over-come. The trillions of dollars required by Obama’s socialistic reformation doesn’t exist in today’s government. Our current government is broke due to the Democrat’s policy of demanding mortgage loans for people that could not afford to pay them, and President Bush lacking the guts to get on the bully pulpit and let everyone know what was happening, even while congressional Republicans tried numerous times to fix the impending economic disaster, and Democrats blocked the effort.

Now, Pelosi and the same Democrats who continued to protect Fannie and Freddie ignoring the pending catastrophe, plan to send out another stimulus package creating even more taxes for taxpayers. As for myself, I don’t want to pay 55 cents of every dollar I earn because of some politicians greediness, or trying to buy a position.

Voters, open your eyes, and listen to what candidates actually say. Don’t let the media think for you and select your president.

America is not lost…yet.

The Critical Facts about the McCain-Palin Health Plan

Guest Columnist Frank Stidman

Most people will be able to increase the amount of health coverage they have or use net tax refunds to pay some medical expenses.

Example 1 - Family person does not have employer paid health insurance. This person will receive a $5,000 tax credit that must be deposited into a health savings account. The money MUST be used to purchase health insurance, and/or for other medical or dental expenses. Net gain to the worker is $5,000

Example 2 - Family person in the 15 percent tax bracket has an employer sponsored plan that pays $ 12,000 of the $15,000 premium. The tax on that benefit will be $1,800 (12,000x15%). The family person will receive a $5,000 tax credit. Since $1,800 of that credit will be used to pay the additional tax on benefits. The taxpayer will net $3,200. This amount must be deposited into a health savings account and those proceeds must be used for medical purposes such as deductibles, co-payments, dental and other medical insurance such as dental or vision care. The 15 percent bracket stops at taxable income of $63,700. Net gain to the worker is $3,200.

Example 3 - Family person is in the 28 percent tax bracket. Otherwise the details are the same as in example 2. The tax on $12,000 in benefits will be $3,360. Consequently, the taxpayer must deposit the excess credit of $1,640 into a health savings account. The funds must be used for medical purposes as in example 2. The 28% bracket is taxable income of $128,500 to $195,850. Net gain to the worker is $1,640.

NOTE: When the Democrats say that the tax credit will "go directly to the insurer" they are referring to the provision that the excess of the $5,000 credit over the benefits tax must be deposited into a health savings account that can only be used to buy more insurance or pay other medical expenses. This assertion is a gross distortion of the McCain program. You must use the credit for medical purposes but that is the central intent of the credit—not an extra tax refund for consumer purchases like cars or appliances.

Preexisting conditions will be covered under the plan also. The Federal government will work with States to develop a Guaranteed Access Plan that would ensure access of these patients to health coverage in a special risk pool. There would be reasonable limits on premiums, and assistance would be available to Americans under a certain income level.

NOTE: Single people would receive a $2,500 tax credit. Otherwise the program will operate the same as for families.

Obama: Show America Your Birth Certificate and Prove Citizenship!

Guest Columnist Martha Dudley

John McCain's parents were both U.S. citizens. He was born at a U.S. Naval base in Panama, a U.S. territory at the time.

There is no question that he is eligible for the office of President of the United States, according to the requirements set forth by our Constitution. Barack Hussein Obama is another story.

Obama's father was not a U.S. citizen, and his mother did not meet the requirements to confer automatic citizenship on him. Therefore, Obama would have to have been born inside the U.S. in order to be a U.S. citizen.

Attorney Phillip Berg, a former Pennsylvania Democratic Party official and former Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General, filed suit in federal court alleging that Obama is not a natural born citizen. Obama's grandmother, half brother and half sister have all given testimony that Obama was born in Kenya.

The birth certificate that Obama has let the media view is a "Hawaiian certificate of live birth" re-issued in 2007. Berg and others allege that it is phony or based on false information supplied to the state of Hawaii.

Instead of letting the court examine his 1961 birth certificate, Obama and the DNC have filed legal motions to delay producing it until after the election. If Obama was born in Hawaii, as he claims, why won't he release his original long form birth certificate for authentication and just resolve the matter?

What is Obama hiding? Indeed, the questions about Obama keep piling up.

Why has he been paling around with terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn for 20 years? Why did he sit in a pew listening to the anti-America racist rantings of Rev. Wright for 20 years? Why did he associate with Chicago crooks like Tony Resko? The list goes on and on.

Americans need to push for answers to these questions because the Democrat media (ABC/NBC/CBS/PBS/MSNBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, etc.) have refused to objectively examine Barack Obama. Instead they float disinformation, make excuses for Obama, run interference for his campaign, regurgitate Democrat talking points, and just flat-out ignore Obama's radical associations.

Voters have a right to know the real Obama.

Carter and Clinton lit the flames of the Fannie/Freddie fire

Guest Columnist J. Dori Callahan

In the current financial crises there is blame aplenty, however, I think people are failing to look at where this socialism/communism/fascism actually started.

From an article dated September 30, 1999, in New York Times: “In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loan that will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets—including the New York metropolitan region will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people.”

The article goes on to predict that such a strategy might not cause problems during times of economic prosperity but that Fanny Mae could run into serious financial difficulty during an economic downturn”.

From JudicialWatch.org, “while the Clinton administration is certainly culpable for getting the ball rolling on these high-risk loans, there is plenty of blame to go around. Fannie Mae led by Clinton’s former budget director, Franklin Raines and Obama Campaign advisor Jim Johnson took Clinton’s risky gamble and doubled down. These two men cooked the books at Fannie Me, issued countless mortgages, and then took huge bonuses before leaving the company. “

And before Clinton pushed this forward, the Carter administration started it by mandating these low cost mortgages to the lower income groups.

“Despite the accounting problems and dire warnings of crisis, these “government sponsored enterprises, with the full support of the liberals in congress and their special-interest community organizing friends such as ACORN pushed for more subprime lending for their politically correct constituencies.”

Now the entire country is facing financial disaster.

Barack Obama: Is the 'citizen of the world,' a U.S. Citizen?

Guest Columnist Martha Dudley

While the elite alter of Barack Hussein Obama is showing serious cracks in its facade, it looks like a cloud of Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS) has enveloped our Democrat-Socialist neighbors. When their fellow travelers in the Drive-by Media are done looking under rocks for ways to smear the Alaskan Governor, perhaps they might take a look at the fellow from Kenya whose shaky credentials they have willfully ignored for over 19 months.

At the heart of the controversy is Obama’s claim to citizenship and laws at the time (that have not been changed retroactively) which preclude him from being a legitimate U.S. Citizen. His birth certificate, which he has declined to provide for authentication, appears to have been forged to hide his lack of citizenship.

This makes him ineligible to be President of the United States, and makes you wonder how on earth he even got in the U.S. Senate. Part of the problem is that the FBI has never been allowed to do a background check on Obama, even though he is seeking the highest office in the land.

Yes, Obama’s communist mentors and friends have been investigated. And apparently, Obama’s known close associations with communists and terrorists, not to mention his Pakistan drug connection in NYC, would prevent him from receiving a security clearance were he to apply for a job with our government. But has Obama, a.k.a. Barry Soereto been investigated? Nope, Nada, zip.

Now finally, a disgruntled Hillary supporter is attempting to do what the Main Stream Media (MSM) refused to consider, and Obama may be forced to document his citizenship, thanks to this lawsuit. If Obama is found to have lied about his citizenship, and there are compelling reasons to believe he has, it will be the hoax of the century, aided and abetted by Democrats who only care about power, and the MSM who only care about keeping Democrats in power.

Put the American Energy Act to a Vote

Guest Columnist Martha Dudley

After Queen Nancy Pelosi shut down Congress to go promote her book, I went to Washington to listen to the Rebel Republicans who have kept the People’s House open to protest Her Royal Majesty’s refusal to allow a vote on the American Energy Act (AEA).

This bill covers all the bases. It provides for an environmentally sound increase in domestic energy production and would have bi-partisan support from legislators who are responsive to the overwhelming support of the voters who favor energy independence.

AEA allows for the development of our energy resources, cuts through the red tape which squelches delivery, gives tax incentives for conservation and efficiency, and promotes renewable and alternative energy technologies. This is truly an ‘all of the above’ choice for everyone.

So why did Nancy Pelosi refuse to allow a vote? One reason is that she fears that the passage of this bill might be seen as a major legislative victory for Republicans. Also, HRM Nancy is heavily invested with T. Boone Pickens in unreliable wind technology which needs continued high gas prices in order for Boone’s planned $1 trillion taxpayer bail-out to be a remote possibility.

And finally, the presumed Democrat candidate, Barack Obama, harbors the Marxist view that higher energy prices are a good thing because they will allow more government control, which can be used to reshape our society as liberals see fit… another communist utopia.

It’s evident that Democrats don’t care about the pain the average American feels at the pump. That is why HRM Nancy believes that she can abuse her power as Speaker of the House.

Tax payers should not tolerate this -- Americans need to speak up. This legislation will stand on its own merits. Put it to a vote.

Congress does not reconvene until September 8th. Take your own trip to Congress and sit in the hallowed seats of our legislators where the public, ordinarily, is not allowed to convene.

Listen to the common-sense facts about the American Energy Act and you will agree that this legislation should be passed, whether it pleases HRM Nancy or not.

The American Energy Act Deserves Your Support

Guest Columnist J. Dori Callahan

On Monday, August 11, 2008, a few friends and I drove to Washington, DC to listen to the Republican Rebels in the House of Representatives speak in reference to the American Energy Act.

It was quite an honor to sit in the very seats formerly used by many great statesmen. At the same time, very disheartening to hear of the undemocratic method utilized by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stop representatives from voting on oil drilling options in the United States. Democrat Nancy Pelosi slammed her gavel down on August 1 at 11:15 AM and shut the Congress down with over 100 representatives waiting to speak on the gas crisis. Speaker Pelosi refused to listen to the Republican congressmen because the Democrats apparently did not have an equivalent number to rebut the Republicans; Speaker Pelosi simply shut your House of Representatives down, turned down all the lights, disconnected the microphones used during sessions, turned of the televised C-Span, and sent all the representatives on a five week vacation. Speaker Pelosi used this method to stop the process of voting to drill for oil in the United States requested by more than 73% of American citizens. Senator Pelosi has stated that she would never have a vote on this issue.

Congressmen, Kevin Brady (TX), Mike Conaway (TX), Tom Price (GA), RandyKuhl (NY), and Trent Frank (AZ) all spoke out for American citizens requesting the Speaker to end the vacation. “End the vacation, stop the vacation and give us and up or down vote on producing more energy right here in America. We’re here on behalf of the American people.”

Beginning with the statement “This is the house of the American people,” Congressman Brady made this request to the audience; “We’re not permitted to even use your resources. Let’s use less energy, but fine more resources. No one will hear that message if you don’t repeat it. American people need to hear this message. This is still a democracy. To never get a chance to vote is just wrong. Call the speaker’s office and tell her you want a vote.”

The Congressmen presented a telephone number for Speaker Pelosi at that time. When called, it would not take a message. Speaker Pelosi did not want to hear the voice of America. (I found another number to call to leave a message for Speaker Pelosi by contacting Rep. Cantor’s office). Also others at this meeting indicated that one could not send e-mail to Speaker Pelosi’s office unless you came from her district. In addition, if you write a letter, it will take at least 3 months before they are read. In this instance, Speaker Pelosi has silenced the voices of the American people she represents. She is unconcerned about the citizen’s problems with energy costs, and most certainly does not care to resolve the energy crisis by drilling in America.

If you listen to the Speaker and other Democrats talking about alternative energy sources, remember there have been discussions on alternative fuel methods for decades. After all these alternative fuel discussions, the ones offered are either too expensive for mass reproduction, ineffective, or unable to be reproduced due to creating crop losses for animals. No one is saying America should not search for alternative energy methods, but the logical solution is drill first everywhere possible. At the same time, begin alternative quests.

Everyone has noticed a slight drop in fuel prices simply because drilling is being discussed. Do not let this drop fool you. Gas prices may lower to about $3.50, and people will be so happy at the slight respite, they’ll stop complaining. This sort of practice is pulled until after the election, and then the prices will climb again. Nothing will change unless you as citizens get involved.

There are currently 5 Republican and 5 Democrat Senators trying to undermine the American Energy Act of the Congressmen mention above. This group has a plan” which does nothing but follow the Democrat plan of alternative fuel. Their plan adds additional regulations on the existing regulations, which cause unreasonable delays on drilling today, and basically pushes alternative fuels instead of drilling.

The names of the Senators holding hands with the Democrats in this action are: Senators Lindsey Graham, John Thume, Saxby Chambliss, Bob Coker, and Johnny Isakson. It is important to tell these Senators to join with the Rebel Republicans, stop interfering with their progress. The Senators are going against the will of both Republicans and Democrats in preventing or slowing drilling. This may not be an emergency for the Senators, but it sure is for the people they represent.

Congressman Trent Frank said, “I used to be a producer of oil and gas. It takes 10-20 years to get it out of the ground, but MOST of that effort is due to Government REGULATIONS. Once you start drilling the average depth well, you can start producing in a MONTH. The reason we’re in this crisis mode now is because our forbearers didn’t deal with it.” (Regulation difficulties)

“Every day we are funding Jihadist terrorism by buying Middle East Oil.”

Citizens can help the brave band of Rebel Congressmen by calling President Bush and all representatives and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, demanding a vote on drilling now. Unless we get the representatives back from their vacation, this vote will not happen.

The prices will not change unless citizens make it happen. Congress is not and has not acted on behalf of the people on this energy crisis. We can make it happen.
