A Prayer for Wisdom

Let us pray,

Our Heavenly Father, we are thankful for the improvement of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. We continue to pray for her and all the others who fell victim to the Tucson tragedy on January 8th.

This week we celebrated the 100th birthday of a great American, Ronald Reagan. Mr. Reagan brought us together as a people with Judeo-Christian principles. This nation will always be grateful for his leadership.

We pray for all of our fellow countrymen who are living in fear. We pray that our people will seek more the wisdom of the Holy Book. The Book of Job is a great source of wisdom. May I quote Job 37, verses 1-3:

“Then, the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind: Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge. Gird up your loins like a man. I will question you, and you shall declare to me.”

We pray for our nation and all of our people. We pray for the leadership of good and wise men to carry us forward on this, our earthly journey.

We pray Heavenly Father that you will watch over the safety of our service men and women, both at home and abroad.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
