The Democrats’ Secret Agenda
I’ve written before that the dirty little secret of the Left is that Democrats really don’t object to high gas prices. When asked recently about high gas prices, Obama said he would have preferred a “gradual increase,” but an increase nonetheless. Be careful what you wish for!
Prices have risen to record levels because demand is going up worldwide, while Democrats restrict supply by stubbornly enforcing their own oil embargo against America. Thanks to the liberal Democrats, our people and our national security are suffering as a result. It’s an amazing racket, but Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has brilliantly exposed the Democrats.
Yesterday, Sen. McConnell brought a bill to the Senate floor that would allow increased oil exploration, but his bill had a catch – a trigger that allows additional drilling only if the price of gas reaches $4.50 a gallon. You see, Sen. McConnell was trying to find out just how much pain the Democrats were willing to inflict on you at the pump before they would change their failed policies and vote to end the their oil embargo against America. Guess what happened to Sen. McConnell’s bill? Democrats objected.
So, Sen. McConnell tried again. What about $5.00 a gallon? Democrats objected. $7.50 a gallon? Democrats objected. Surely at $10 a gallon, they would allow more drilling, right? No. It seems almost impossible to believe, but thankfully the exchange was recorded and you can watch it here. Be certain to share this with your friends and family members!
In short, there is no amount of pain at the pump that would cause them to abandon the radical environmentalist agenda and end the Democrat oil embargo against America. If the Democrat majority in Congress won’t take action to secure our energy independence in a time of war and record gas prices, then it’s up to you! VOTE REPUBLICAN TO END THE DEMOCRAT OIL EMBARGO!
By the way, House Republicans are putting up a great fight! Many of them are still here in Washington, and they took to the House floor today to talk about energy issues. Furious, Democrats turned off the lights and microphones, and ordered the Capitol Police to clear the press corps from the House gallery. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) responded by saying, “This is the people’s House. This is not Pelosi’s Politiburo.” Good for them!
